With two months to go until the release of The Hurting deluxe box set, Tears For Fears have today made available a brand new studio recording – a cover version of Arcade Fire’s Ready To Start, which featured on the Canadian band’s 2010 album The Suburbs. interesting… I like it.
I don’t know the original, so juudging by this version only. I like the electronic approach, and Rolands voice sounds good. If they’re doing an album using this approach, I’m excited to see where they go with it. The proto-Beatles influence was pretty well exhausted on ‘Everybody Loves A Happy Ending’ (which I absolutely love too, can’t believe its almost 10 years).
This track is very similar to ‘Hey Andy’ from Roland solo album ‘Tomcats Screaming Outside’. It’s even better because they added that synth sound from first album.
Very good track with ‘Tomcats’ vibe. Hope that new album will be in the same direction.
Really like this. A bit different to what some might expect but a good track nonetheless.
