Win a pair of tickets to see Tom Bailey warm-up show
In preparation for his appearance at Rewind on Sunday 17th August and his North American Retro Futura tour (which follows soon after), the Thompson Twins‘ Tom Bailey will be playing an exclusive warm-up show in Reading’s SUB89 venue next Thursday, 14 August.
This is already sold out but SuperDeluxeEdition has TWO PAIRS of tickets to give away to some lucky readers.
If you wish to be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets, simply leave a comment on this post telling us your favourite Thompson Twins song and why you like it so much.
TWO winners will be randomly selected and announced here on Monday 11 August (in the morning). The prize for each winner will be entry into this gig for you and one other person.
PLEASE NOTE: You need to be available to go to the SUB89 venue in Reading (in the UK) on Thursday 14 August evening next week. Only enter if you are sure you can attend! Doors are likely to be around 7pm or 7.30pm (TBC). You will need to make your own arrangements to get to and from the show and there will be no physical tickets required, since your name(s) will be on put on a list at the door.
Very best of luck! The Thompson Twins Remixes & Rarities compilation is out in September 2014.
Hold Me Now. Reminds me seeing the Twins after a Shaving foam filled Rag Day at Salford University more years ago than I care to remember. Oh what a day and evening. What a track. Awesome. They don’t make em like they used to. I even sound now like my dad did then. Scary.
Lay your hands on me, its joyous, uplifting and romantic.
If you were here – I spent a load of money getting an import CD just to get this track
Lay your hands on me!!!
Sister of Mercy…superb use of transitional lyrics, I loved the image of someone becoming a prisoner in their life and then in their mind…in fact, the greatness of Thompson Twins is that they make you feel good and think, so something for the head and for the heart!
Better answer the question then :)
You Take Me Up – because of the four shaped picture discs that formed into a jigsaw – so cool! And also Passion Planet on the flip side is brilliant!
Into the Gap. The fantastic title track of their best album sounds like Tom Bailey jamming with Blancmange. Never tire of hearing it.
My favourite venue!
