Just got the Supergrass 3 CD IIFTM for £11.99, I popped in the Oxford HMV, nice to see the boxes but crazy prices compared to SDE deals. Had a busy day loading my CDs into my Mac, got to say the Ryko CDs from 30 odd years ago sound fabulous, all those bonus tracks too.
Mark Knopfler – The Studio Albums 1996-2007 6CD box set at 24 € in amazon Spain.

On Amazon ES
Rolling Stones – Tattoo You 40th Anniversary 5LP box is £89 incl postage to the UK
On Amazon DE
Rolling Stones – Goats Head Soup 3CD/BR Super Deluxe is £55 (about £60 with postage)
Bob Marley & The Wailers – Complete Island Recordings 11CD set is £19
So how much is a box set worth? An empty Bowie Brilliant Adventure vinyl box ( with the book ) sold on eBay for £46 with a tenner on top for postage, can’t really see why anybody would want an empty box, am I missing something?
People who stream would be interested in buying this I believe.
NOT ME! I hasten to add I don’t do fresh air music.
Yes, good point, the books are aren’t available elsewhere.
It’s half the price of the CD boxset ! Honestly, Who would but that ?
The book would be of interest in its own right, but the box might appeal to people who already have the original vinyl albums ( less the Recall discs) and fancy storing them in the box alongside the other box sets, whilst saving a few hundred pounds!
maybe someone bought the set that arrived with a damaged box?
The Waterboys / The Magnificent Seven 5CD+DVD clamshell box is in amazon Germany at 35 €, but you can applied a 2,70 voucher at checkout moment.

On Amazon UK
The Band – Stage Fright 2CD is £8.75
Ian Dury – Do It Yourself 2CD/DVD/LP is £37
New Order – Power Corruption & Lies 2CD/2DVD/LP is £76
Can’t recommend the Ian Dury box highly enough. Lovely piece of kit!
Donna Summer I am a rainbow 2 lp £15 on amazon and only £9.78 on Juno!
I expect most people interested in it will own it by now but the CD/DVD/LP version of Neil Young’s Young Shakespeare is down to an exceptional £28 on Amazon UK.
Flash sale at HMV – one third off but some prices look inflated.
Those crafty ba@ta@ds at HMV, raise the price of LPs/Blurays etc, they raise the prices by 25% then have a 20% off sale. No wonder their shops are shutting down.
Which are these HMV shops that are shutting down – The fantasy ones in your head ?! They opened 10 new stores this year & plan more next year including a new london flagship to replace Bond Street.
i thought exactly the same

Wow, I thought that Bob Marley set was a staggering bargain when I got it for €15!
A superb price but shipping costs to the UK £17!!??
They changed shipping after Brexit. Now a fixed cost to UK regardless of quantity. This is OK if you are buying a lot. The tenancy is then to order a lot (and that’s easy as there’s quite a few bargains in the current sale). However, you need to remember the £135 threshold. The way they ship into UK means you will be charged taxes and handling fees etc on entry to UK. Its happened to me on last two orders.
Ah, brexit. The gift that keeps on taking.
There are some amazing deals here.
Waterboys – Magnificent Seven CD/DVD super deluxe box set is down to £68 on Amazon UK. Think that’s down a bit from when it was announced.
If anybody likes a bit of Celtic Music Moya Brennan of Clannad has got a flash sale on with massive discounts on Cds on her website, 5 euro each and if you buy a few you get another 20% off, ive just got seven for £30 delivered well worth it Canvas alone is still holding at £15 on Amazon
The Band ‘ Stage fright’ Deluxe is reduced again, to €69 on Amazon Germany (compared to £135 on Amazon UK)
Big saving on the 5CD/BR Nirvana – Nevermind 30th Anniversary box set on Amazon DE – there’s a limited time £18 voucher available, which puts it down to £79 (plus about £5 shipping).
Similar saving on the 5LP version of Rolling Stones – Tattoo You (£18 off the £112 price, which is about £20 cheaper than Amazon UK)
There are smaller vouchers across a load of other things too – e.g. the REM – New Adventures 2CD/BR has a £4.50 voucher available on it (down to £31) and the normal 2CD version has a £1.87 voucher on it (down to £16). Can’t see any correlation between the offers, though. Seems fairly random. Most of the vouchers I’ve seen are 30p-£1.50 off a handful of recent standard releases.
Thalia.de has 20% off until Wednesday the 8th. Free shipping in Germany on orders over 30 €. They ship to many countries but not to the U.K. They acknowledge that shipping will take a little longer than usual.
For instance, George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass SuperDeluxe set is only 98,39 € – which is an all-time lowest price in Germany so far.
Potential major deal alert – Macca Flaming Pie 5cd 2dvd box £107 at Chalkys.com
Deal over (sold out – unsurprising).
From Chalky’s? Good luck..
Curiously, the box has been removed from the Chalkys website but has appeared on their Ebay listing for £136 (which is still a good price). The Ebay listing shows 12+ items in stock currently.
I took a chance and ordered one yesterday direct at £107. No cancellation notice received yet…..
Fingers crossed for you. I thought i had read some disparaging comments about them previously on here.
they have the most flimsy packaging. don’t order anything from them that can break easily.
Must be the miracle of Christmas! McCartney Flaming Pie box for £107 from Chalkys received this afternoon via DHL. Extremely well packaged and in mint condition. Glad I gave them another chance…
I took a punt and ordered one as well. Arrived yesterday in perfect condition. Looks like we were lucky this time. At £107, it’s a decent price for this boxset – but definitely not worth the original price!
It seems like most of the German deals posted as “deal over” above are available again.
While the 40% off Black Friday sale is over, the US uDiscover Music site is now offering 30% off and free US shipping through Jan 2.

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone who ordered the new Bowie box set from SHE has had a shipping notice or any emails from them.
Hi KeriP. I bought it from them last Friday after seeing the post and that several people had done the same. I rang them yesterday to see how it was doing as hadn’t had a despatch email. They said it was backordered and would be a few more days. I decided I didn’t want to wait, so I asked for a refund, which they actioned and I got a confirmation email of the same (I used paypal on this occasion). I was a bit worried about some of the trust pilot reviews, but they have a real UK based customer service and you can get through to someone in a minute or two. It is a good price at £64. I do think they are genuine. I wonder if the trust pilot stuff is that disgruntled people leave bad reviews and happy people don’t review. Would be interested to hear how everyone gets on. The more UK sellers we have to choose from, the better.
Hi. I also ordered it after the posting on here and haven’t received anything yet, but I think it’s early days (especially following the usual Black Friday mail chaos) and am prepared to give them a week or so. The price was excellent and free postage so I’ll cut them some slack, and it’s good to know from Rich G that they are on the end of the phone and amenable to cancellation if it becomes necessary – I can think of much bigger organisations who are much less accessible or accommodating ( hi Greedy Hands Uk).
Looking at the SHE website this Bowie box looks a little away from their normal stock portfolio, but good luck to them; and as Rich G says, the more choice of UK sellers the better. If they come through with the goods in reasonable time, at that excellent price I’ll be more than satisfied.
Hi, Thank you for the replies.
I’ll give them another week and see if I have any luck before I cancel. Thanks agai.
Same for me as others have said: checked my order this morning and it’s still showing as ‘You’ll receive an email and text when your order is ready.’
Given the price I don’t mind waiting longer than usual for it to arrive.
After 3 emails i finally got a reply, they are out of stock until two weeks, and i could have a refund [which i did take],if i didn’t want to wait.
Amazon it is then…
Anyone heard anything yet. It`s now 17 days since Black Friday and not so much of a sniff from SHE about if they they are shipping yet or if they even have this. Looks like the bad reviews were right.
I have today, just received a letter from SHE confirming that they have been unable to obtain copies of Bowie
s box set and have cancelled my order. It
s only taken them a month. Looks as though all of those dreadful reviews were justified. Definitely wont use them again. Thank goodness Amazon still have it for £77 and I have just ordered it. Hopefully it
ll arrive by tomorrow.Yep – I got the same letter today implying that the item had been discontinued and was out of print.
They state they will refund but haven’t done so yet.
Definitely won’t be using them again…
Is the Bowie CD box deal over? It seems to be still available for just under £79 on amazon UK.
The George Harrison All Things Must Pass deluxe box (CD and blu-ray) is now down to £80. All the reviews I’ve seen make it really clear that the content is great but the package over all is grossly over-priced. Does anyone have a view on what a “justifiable” price would be for this?
Using the ‘Jethro Tull Benchmarking Test’ I’d say £30.
For me, it would have to come down to between £50 to £60. And even then, I’d use a voucher to justify the purchase. Not gonna happen anytime soon though.
Personally I would jump in at £50, calibrated against ‘The Beatles’ (White Album) CD/BR, which I paid £60 for and is a fantastic package musically and physically. This is also my acceptable price for ‘Let It Be’ CD/BR too btw for exactly the same reason. Of course this may mean playing a (very?) long game …
From the looks, size and contents, it seems roughly comparable to the Joni Archives sets, so based on that I’d say £40-£50 would seem sensible. £80 is still waaaaaaaaay overpriced.
I think the White Album box set is the king of all box sets, and mine cost £60, so I’ve always thought that as my benchmark, the Bowie box at £77 is a right bargain, the print is a bit small but hey ho. If the George box comes in at £60 I’ll go for it, but what are we comparing the cost to? I did £90 on a cheeky pair of Airmax, we’ll have these box sets forever
Had to get the Bowie, £77 is a very good price and it came the next day.
I love that the box sets are uniform in size and quality and I look forward to giving it some time.
Not my favourite Bowie era but like Dylan, you just gotta have it.
Thanks SDE, as usual a great source of information.
Supergrass – In It For The Money 3CD back to £11.99 on Amazon UK

Some nice deals on Amazon.it right now:
Prince Sign O’ The Times (Super Deluxe Edition) CD – 98,99 EUR
Prince Sign O’ The Times (Super Deluxe Edition) Vinyl – 178,99 EUR (no BF offer, but very good price IMHO)
Neil Young Archives Vol. II – 82,99 (already advised)
Neil Young After The Gold Rush (50th Anniversary Edition) box – 63,99 EUR
Neil Young Young Shakespeare box – 46,99 EUR
Thanks for the links, but the Prince Sign O’ The Times (Super Deluxe Edition) Vinyl for 178,99 has been at this price for weeks and when you try to order it (to an address outside Italy?) it jumps to 208,85 Euro + shipping. Still cheaper than anywhere else but almost €50 more expensive than what the deal promises :(
Hi chromiun (nice avatar, DK rules!!!), where are you from?
I’m able to finalize order at 178,99, so maybe it depends by your residence country.
Is it maybe VAT in your country highest than in Italy (22%)? e.g., I ever pay a little more of shown price on Amazon.de and Amazon.fr, as VAT in Italy is higher than in Germany and France…
Hi, I’m in Belgium where VAT is 21%…so it should be lower but for some reason it’s not.
I’ve tried to buy it on at least 5 different occasions, and each time I get the higher price alas. And always good to run into another DK fan ;)
Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy now £85 on Amazon for the 5 LP set , just bought one myself.
Which Amazon ?
Amazon UK: https://amzn.to/3G21bHO
Just a heads up on the Jesus Christ Superstar reissue. I received my copy of the Deluxe Edition at the weekend. The thing is a beautiful package, and the book is marked improvement (it could hardly be worse) from the standard CD release. However – as beautiful as it is, the mastering is atrocious. I usually don’t mind some compression, but they really went crazy on this one. My advice, if you want the set for the music, buy a previous reissue. If you want it for the package (the book and slipcase) then get this one. However, keep any previous versions you own, because the main album in the new set is really really poor.
Interesting. I’ve been hovering over the “buy” button on this one all weekend without committing. Is it a bargain? Undoubtedly. But do i really need it? My wife asked when I had last played the version I already had (she also asked when I would find the time to play the new Bowie box I had just ordered but that’s another story..). I couldn’t remember. I played it and it sounded good. Probably don’t need to hear it again though in a hurry. On the basis that I’ll only play it every few years, I think I can live with my existing copy……..
It’s a decision if you’re willing to buy a book for £30. You get a disc of outtakes, and I’ve not listened to that yet. But if it’s mastered like the album proper, it’s likely worthless. So it’s all down to the book – which is nice. Personally, it’s not £30 nice.
Bowie vinyl £332.38 at amazon.co.uk, 9% off. Still not low enough for me …
These vinyl boxsets will never be low enough.
Amazon France works out at £295 all in!
Do you have link?
Here’s the link https://amzn.to/3E8fD0b
The thing to remember with this one is that it’s way more than the £135 limit, so anyone in the UK purchasing this will most likely incur import VAT/admin fees etc.
Thanks Paul!
I got a preorder from Amazon Spain that came in at £283 including the taxes, definitely worth keeping an on the euro websites.
Amazon does this with the import fees deposit scheme and that’s included in the £295. If the fees are less they refund the difference. Whatever there will be no more to pay.
Yes, I’ve just realised that actually. European Amazons are now adopting the US approach which is really good news. Thanks.
How do you do that? I get I higher price trying to order to teh UK:
Articles:GBP 238.96
Livraison :GBP 9.05
Acompte Frais d’Import:GBP 49.60
Frais de garantie du taux de change : GBP 7.06
Montant total :GBP 304.67
(that’s an additional £56.66 in nonsense costs)
The UK price is now £342 *without* shipping. The Amazon France price is about £285 without shipping (and without the exchange rate fee). The import duty fee is fair enough. You may say “nonsense costs” but all that matters is are you making a £50 saving on the UK box set.
True! But I thought I was doing something wrong – there is no way to surpress/reduce those taxes then I guess, if you’re in the UK? It’s early days, so I’m hoping the UK box might waver a bit in price too (if French Amazon may be an indication of its tendency). It is in any case an excellent price if you’re in France!
I think you could avoid the currency cost thingy, if you used a euro card.
Sorry for being off topic but i discovered a hilarious rant on an American website that might be of interest to other SDE-readers too…
https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2021/11/25/low-fidelity-adele-record-store-day-and-why-youll-take-cds-and-like-it/
@Klaus – thanks for taking the time to post the link to this editorial! I think it’s a great summation of the current state of affairs for physical media. And that bit about Taylor Swift’s fan challenges with 45 RPM vinyl damn near had me in tears. Doesn’t Crosley cover this in their 2 page turntable manual?
Thanks for the link. Some great quotes in this – I especially like the description of the early adopters in the vinyl resurrection as “wieners in Red Hook with ironic mustaches and organic window herb gardens — and probably a f—ing unicycle — splattering themselves with the records they more than likely only took out as show pieces during wine tastings.”
I’m a huge fan of vinyl and have spent a small fortune on it – but I firmly agree with some of the craziness encapsulated by the description of a “a f—ing Jim Croce reissue that’s on manhole thick vinyl and costs 20 times the used near-mint copy of the original.”
Personally, my biggest dislike are the 45rpm reissues of albums in which you get one or two songs on each side of a ridiculous number of discs. Not only are they very expensive, but you’re getting up every five minutes to flip the disc. The postings from those who purchased Taylor Swift’s newest, which is pressed at 45rpm, who apparently do not understand there is such a thing as 45rpm and believe a “man” is singing on the album is both hilarious and a sad comment on man.
On the whole, though, I disagree with the premise offered by the author that the adoption of vinyl by the masses is a bad thing. I think it is a great thing for the industry and the artists. Unfortunately production is currently not capable of meeting demand – but if we know anything it is that industry, given enough time, has a knack for not only rectifying such situations, but tipping the scales so far to the other side that the market is flooded with product. The idea that the backup at vinyl plants will be the “death” of physical media is absurd IMO.
“but if we know anything it is that industry, given enough time, has a knack for not only rectifying such situations…”
They couldn’t rectify illegal downloading and the sharing of music 20 years ago and it was tech companies (Apple; Spotify, etc.) who rectified the situation whilst the music industry buried its head in the sand, suing individuals and hoping that the situation would go away!
Thanks for the link. Really interesting rant, with some truths and some ‘who knows’.
I am beginning to think physical media is about to disappear entirely except for eBay. Even charity stores have stopped displaying CDs, DVDs and vinyl. I have a couple of Bowie Ryko CDs that I want to track down, but not really too fussed about whether the music I want is on vinyl, CD or stream anymore. I draw the line at cassette though!
Yes, RSD is a total rip-off.
Was hoping for a deal for OMD’s architecture & morality singles vinyl.
But got the ACR.box.
Thanks to everyone here for their helpful contributions in this thread.
Not sure where you are located but here is a good deal on Architecture & Morality. Only $41 or £31. That’s below the £135 limit so you probably won’t pay import fees if you are in the UK or is that only for products from EU?
https://amzn.to/3xzZa2l
Thanks for the link
The Band | Stage Fright BF Deal in Germany is on again. Delivery date in January. Worth the wait considering that it is about half of the original (imho ridiculous) price. https://amzn.to/32w83OY
Now, on Amazon.de: the Miles Davis Complete Columbia Album Collection for 186 €. That’s a pretty good price for 70 cd’s (with the original covers) + 1 dvd + 1 hardcover cd-format 250 p. book, in a neat, sturdy and handy box. Actually, my Deserted Island-choice, if you are allowed only one musical item …
This set is even more fantastic than its name suggest – many of the original albums are augmented with bonus tracks, adding depth to the evolution of his musical vision across the (often) radically different periods of his influential career. Many of these are detailed on the ‘Complete Columbia Album Collection‘ Wikipedia page, but this isn’t comprehensive; for example ‘We Want Miles’ has a number of additional tracks (from the limited Japan-only Miles! Miles! Miles!).
You made me check this out and it is £159.23 from Amazon UK. I already have quite a few of the albums, but this is very tempting at just over £2 per CD, plus I see from Dolby that they have additional tracks.
Would I ever have time to listen to it, that is the only thing stopping me.
This was out of print for ages and you had to pay pretty penny for a copy. Interestingly, the DVD was re-released in Volume 1 of the Bootleg Series, but with fewer tracks (licensing issues). Would be interesting to know whether this is a repress of the box, and if so, wether it contains the newly mastered DVD, or the original one.
BTW the Box is highly recomended, if you are interested in Miles’ work
The DVD in the box has 2 concerts (Karlsruhe and Stockholm) from this phenomenal 1967 tour, the one in the BLS just one (Stockholm but more complete). I don’t think they really repress such a monumental box. They would build a different version, to attract the MF’s who already have the first version. Changes are that I, as a Miles-completist, would buy it again, depending on the amount of interesting differences. Miles is such a wonderful, deep-hitting and generous musician, my collection is really something and a source of endless joy for decades ! And worth now a pretty penny, not that will ever sell it, but my heirs could easily. BTW: I would like to see more jazz SDE’s here, such as the recent Complete Lee Morgan Live At The Lighthouse-box set, 8 full cd’s of stellar improvisation from July 1970, a great booklet and even really cheap …
Amazon have the best price in the UK for the Bowie set currently – £77.59 with free delivery. A tempting proposition when HMV have it for £99.99 in store!
Ordered as a Christmas present!
just a ridiculously good price. I managed to get one from an ebay seller with a coupon so only paid about 80 quid, but if i hadn’t this would definitely be of interest!
Wow, a 187 comments. Thanks everybody for all the deals. I have bought everything I wanted on an excellent sale, both regular and pre-orders, spread out over various websites and days. This Black Friday season was amazing! Many thanks to all who shared the deals! Not sure if Cyber Monday is going to bring us more but I got everything crossed off my list.
Any deal for Depeche mode 101(pre-order) deluxe edition?
You can get the CD/BR version for £86 incl delivery to the UK from Amazon FR, which puts it about £24 cheaper than UK Amazon.
Not sure where you are but if you are in the US, this is the best it gets.$80 (£60)
https://www.importcds.com/search?q=Depeche+mode&mod=AP
Thanks for this. By the time I saw your first comment about it on Friday the TENOFF code expired but after I placed the order they emailed me a code for 10% off my first purchase. I emailed them and they will refund me the 10%, so I’m happy with my bargain yay lol.
Well done! Even$80 is a really good price but $72, even better!
The Beatles Let It Be VINYL box now €95 at Amazon.es
Third Man Records have a great Black Friday weekend deal. 10% off a £50 spend and 15% off £100 spend.
They’ve fresh stock of a lot of White Stripes and Jack White titles.
The discount takes some down to around £16 each.
Free shipping on £50 basket too.
So, this David Bowie deal so soon? Does that mean WEA overestimated demand? Any vinyl version deals yet? The cheapest I saw was at Popmarket for $350 with their coupon POPBF10. I’m waiting for $240 pre-tax(40% off). These sets seem artificially overpriced at list price.
Bowie Adventures vinyl box set is GBP290 here in NZ from JBHIFI (usually GBP360). Good price either way. Shame I’m not interested. I’ll wait for the unbundling and get me Eartling, Outside and Hours . . .
‘Brilliant Adventure’ part of a 2 for 3 deal at Amazon.com. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else available through the deal to make it of any interest to me.
Any link on this offer? I found the Brilliant Adventure CD and Vinyl box set but i cannot find any deal related with them. THanks!
Looks like it was a blink-and-you-miss-it Black Friday deal. It seems to be over. However, current price is $119.69 which isn’t too bad, I guess.
Odd. My post awaiting approval disappeared. Apparently, it was a Black Friday deal and is now over. However, importcds has ‘Brilliant Adventure’ cd for $103.88. Cheapest I’ve seen it in the States.
It looks though that Amazon Spain have this offer (3 for 2):
https://amzn.to/3cUCzEc
Hi. The 4CD Eric Clapton debut album anniversary set is £32.75 on Amazon UK at the moment.
Even a better Bowie Brilliant Adventures deal on Amazon Italy. Only £70 pounds (€89)

Tangerine Dream deal is done. Disappointing that the wait for a worthwhile legal release of The Keep soundtrack goes on…
It’s not done. Same price, with stock coming on 4 Dec.
It was gone for a while but now relisted. Same as with the ACR set the other day.
Good to know – thanks

Wow, thanks for posting this. Would have completely missed this otherwise. That’s Christmas wrapped up for me.
Amazing.. Thank you
The Queen box set for News of the World is down to £66.36 on Amazon UK.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0758ZN38H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Got it on ebay a few years ago brand new and sealed for £50. It shows yet again the differences and what some folk are prepared to pay. This year has been awful for deals, easily the worst yet. Wish Amazon UK would do a January 2018 super sale again. Best one yet..
In amazon spain there is a promotion, where you buy 2 and discount 25%. From November 23, 2021 to November 28, 2021.
I bought New Adventures In Hi-Fi 25th Anniversary Edition for 36 euros and Bruce springsteen The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts (Presale 2 Lps + Mat) for 24 €. There are quite a few novelties like govt mule. https://amzn.to/3nX3YvF
Not a black friday deal but bowie brilliant adventures cd is £77.59 on amazon uk
Ouch. I dithered about whether to cancel it or not and see if the price dropped, but suprised it dropped that much! Bit annoyed to receive a “We’ve refunded you because of a price drop” email from Amazon this morning, for the massive sum of 11 pence only to then find that the price has dropped by 14 quid the day after release. Bugger!!
It is a nice set though and finally they didn’t glue the “contents sheet” to the back of the box this time. Hurrah!
Exactly the same scenario here, Richard. I didn’t let it go, though. I’ve just spent the last hour online and on the phone to get a refund! It’s a pain the arse, of course, but I couldn’t let it pass. I mean, 11p!!! :D
Got refunded the difference after chatting with them. :)
I nabbed it for £70 including a Black Friday 10% discount from Dodax.com.
They only seemed to have a handful of copies which all went very quickly.
This is a lesson for me! Never pre-order from Amazon, either that or cancel before dispatch if they didn’t drop the price during the pre-order period. I got refunded 11p today and feel very annoyed that they dropped the price next day. It’s insulting the way they treat people who pre-order.
This is the same when you pre-order from anywhere – at least Amazon have a form of preorder price guarantee – when was the last time an artist store/HMV/Zavvi/FNAC etc etc even acknowledged a pre-order price drop never mind refunded the difference?
So tell me which other retailers have you ordered from who have automatically refunded you for a price drop after you placed an order?
What is the attraction of a pre-order guarantee then if it is just a way to lock the customer in to higher prices?
Your comment is a tactic to deflect attention away from the fact that Amazon reduced their price by over £10 the day after their guarantee expired while refunding a nominal 11 pence to faithful but unsuspecting pre-orderers.
Please tell me why after this blatant tactic anyone would pre-order from them in future rather than wait until after release date, unless for an extremely limited edition.
Vot is ze point?
The reason to pre-order is because if Amazon had dropped the price of this Bowie box by £20 for just 2 hours a month ago, everyone who pre-ordered would get the product for £20 cheaper then when they first put the order in, without having to do anything. Granted this didn’t happen with Brilliant Adventure, but price-drops mid pre-order period do happen fairly regularly. I agree it’s undoubtedly annoying that the price dropped so soon, but amazon’s unfathomable algorithms are a ‘win some, lose some’ proposition. Sometimes it works for you, sometimes against. For better, or for worse, no other retailer offers the opportunity to take advantage of price fluctuations BEFORE the release date of a product.
Sorry Paul, though that might be true for shops in the UK, i can tell you out of experience that jpc.de offers the same pre-order price guarantee as Amazon does.
I’m not talking about pre-order price guarantee, I’m talking about moving the price up and down during the pre-order period. No one else does that, as far as I’m aware, therefore Amazon offers a unique opportunity in that respect (whatever its other faults may or may not be).
What Paul said below. Again , still waiting for you to tell me which other retailers you’ve preordered from which have refunded you automatically when a price has dropped at any point before release, or is your comment “a tactic to deflect attention away from the fact that” you don’t have an answer lol. I don’t recall Manic Street Preachers online store refunding people who preordered their last album at full price when the price halved upon release because they were chasing a chart position etc etc etc.
Just bought the Goats Head Soup from Amazon.de. This is my fifth version of this. In 1973 i got it as a christmas present. Then i bought cd-versions of it in 1987, 1994 and 2009. That 2009 version is horrible. Totally destroyed by a brickwalled sound and censored Star Star. Here i like to borrow few lines of the Stones song The Last Time and add few words by myself: This could be the last time i bought new version of this record!
Just got Beatles Let it Be for £89 on Amazon UK. it suddenly popped up in the Black Friday deals with a couple of hours to go (it ends at midnight)
If it is even cheaper come Cyber Monday I shall be very put out
The price for that box has been up and down like a yo-yo recently! Must admit I was really hoping for BF deal on it. Maybe £70/75.
I’m done ordering from abroad, so stuck with UK deals. The best deal of the day, I think, was the Rory Gallagher – however, I already have that. I did upgrade my Jesus Christ Superstar though, so I’m grateful for that. Otherwise, nothing much to get excited about, I don’t think.
There’s a few nice cheap regular cd deals on Amazon UK at the moment:
Til We Meet Again https://amzn.to/3xuCdO7
Norah JonesTil We Meet Again £5.99
Deal: The Pianoman At Christmas: The Complet… https://amzn.to/3E06y9N
Jamie Cullum – The Piano Man At Christmas: The Complete Edition, signed. 2 cd £5.99
Deal: Still Rising – The Collection https://amzn.to/3FV6etc
Gregory Porter Still Rising – The Collection 2 cd £5.99
It’s interesting that due to the amazing site that SDE is and the detective work of Paul and others, most of these deals have been highlighted on SDE in the past.
I have purchased – all alerted over the months here!.
Tangerine Dream – Pilots of Purple Twilight.
The Beatles – White Album and Sgt Pepper.
Bob Marley – Complete Island Recordings.
So far Black Friday seems to be repeats of the SDE alert deals often for more money?.
Cat Stevens – Tea for the Tillerman super deluxe $34.99 at Amazon USA crazy price!
Sergeant Pepper SDE has been at 62 euros on Amazon.nl for a few weeks now. And The White Album SDE for 72 euros on Amazon.de, also since a few weeks. Bought both of them and they are State-Of-The-Art, no less IMHO. Although the World Vision-broadcast in 1967 of ‘AYNIL’ really changed my life – I became a hippie overnight – I wasn’t an unconditional Beatle-fan, until I bought the Red and Blue-tapes in Thailand in 2000, but I sure am now ! The Esher Demos are fantastic, to just name one thing …
Does Amazon NL deliver to UK? Tried to order the Sgt Pepper SDE but they won’t deliver to Scotland?
No, they don’t deliver anywhere outside The Netherlands.
And in Belgium, and pretty fast too.
For anybody in the U.S. who might still be interested in getting the Guns ‘N Roses Appetite for Destruction “Locked & Loaded” super-duper deluxe set, the uDiscover site (Universal Music USA) has a 40% off sale, which reduces the price of this set from $399 to $239.40. And, they’ll ship it for free within the USA (not sure if that’s continental USA or all 50 states), which makes this an incredible deal.
That is good. Pity these aren’t available for this kind of price in the UK (shipping from the US is £180!).
Wow, that is a lot for shipping, although the box set weighs about 41 pounds shipped inside the big shipping box. It is one heavy collectible!
Might be cheaper to fly over to the US without luggage and take this home as luggage.
Just a taste of what the 40% off means at Udiscovermusic.com:
-Garbage 3cd Beautiful Garbage $17.98
-Tragically Hip Road Apples deluxe box $74.98
-Rolling Stones Ghost Town 10” orange vinyl $8.38
-Rolling Stones She’s A Rainbow 10” yellow vinyl $14.98
-Rolling Stones Goat’s Head Soup clear vinyl (alt cover) $21.58
-Rolling Stones Tattoo You clear vinyl (alt cover) $23.98
-Rolling Stones Tattoo You CD box $90
Many more box sets at insane prices, all 40% off.
What about custom fees?
With the US there’s always a chance.
Looks like the pick of the deals. Europe has really not been great. At least my bank balance is happy. I was really expecting big reductions in Let It Be boxsets. I guess given the documentaries are currently being aired, it is not the time to expect such discounts.
Seems like there’s no easy way to search Amazon US for music deals. No category.
Agree. Target usually runs the 3 for 2 deal at the same time as Amazon and I prefer to search on their site, which is surprisingly better organized.
U2 All That You You Can’t Leave Behind 20th anniversary vinyl box set comes to £120 on HMV under the VINYL33 promotion.
Many thanks for the heads up Paul – JCS bought.
Spanish branch of fnac i.e fnac.es is running some nice discounts as well as a 3 for 2 on major part of their stock. I saw Billie eilish 7 inch box, depeche mode ultra bos, pink Floyd lapse, Beatles led it be, Stones tattoo. Give it a look
George Harrison All Things CD Super Deluxe is only £75 and free shipping on Chalkys.com
Chalkys are getting a bit of a reputation for overselling on their Amazon account and cancelling orders, but all my previous orders direct have been ok
The same applies with ordering direct too. I was let down with an order for the recent Elvis Nashville set which never arrived. I would never use them again. Looks like SHE already referenced have a similar if not worse reputation from reviews.
Stopped buying from them years ago, customer service, for one thing, is appalling, if anything goes wrong.
Had two box sets go missing from them a couple of weeks ago although, to be fair, they did send replacements. Wouldn’t use them again.
Discovered quite by accident last night that https://shop.udiscovermusic.com/ has a 40% off sale. Got the Armed Forces super deluxe edition for $120 shipped (https://shop.udiscovermusic.com/products/elvis-costello-the-attractions-armed-forces-super-deluxe-edition-box-set?_pos=2&_sid=ef6628ddd&_ss=r). Note that this sale does not apply to their “exclusive color version” set.
The colored vinyl pressing is actually, in fact, part of the sale despite the listing itself saying otherwise. But if you add it to your cart, it shows that the price is $156 after the discount.
I’d just like to thank all the SDE readers who have taken the time to share their BF finds. It’s people like them who make this such a great site. Oh, and thanks Paul too.
I was about to say the same thing when I spotted that you already had. Well said.
Simply Home Entertainment are offering 20% off throughout the store with voucher code BF2021. So , for instance the David Bowie ” Brilliant Adventures ” CD boxset can be had for £64 .
I’ve not ordered from SHE before and there’s some poor feedback online. Feedback from anyone who has used them would be very welcome, thanks.
Yes, I saw the Bowie box on SHE, but after reading reviews on Trust Pilot I decided to go elsewhere. Good luck if you do order from them. You might get your order, you might not….
From one Craig to another, just taken advantage of this, great price!
Cheers for the heads up!
I wasn’t familiar with Simply Home Entertainment but ordered the Bowie bargain at £64 & free shipping. If this comes through, this will be the biggest Black Friday bargain for me. Thanks
I cancelled my pre-order last week but £60ish is totally in my sweet spot.
S.H.E. isn’t on my usual radar so thanks for sharing this here.
Great price, I’ve also not ordered from SHE before, so hope it arrives in good shape.
Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks Craig, £64 with free postage for the Bowie cd box is low enough to tempt me whilst I wait (and hope) the vinyl set will drop to a sensible price.
That’s a great price. I have ordered the set from rarewaves which currently has 10% off across the site, which gives a cost of around £78 with free postage. I also ordered the new Matt Berry 4 CD box at the same time with the discount.
The Bowie BLA vinyl box is already down by £30, early loyal buyers must be annoyed , my limit is £220 on this, got the Bob Marley box, will have a butchers in HMV later
The Peter Green celebration deluxe box set , 4LPs, 2 CDs, blu-ray, book, is £67 on Amazon UK.
The Who Sell Out box $79 on Amazon.com
https://amzn.to/3I75xzh
Seems to be over. But still at Amazon.it for 70€/60£
Cherry Red has a sale including the excellent 5 CD of Mercury Rev’s Secret Migration for £14.99
https://www.cherryred.co.uk/product/mercury-rev-the-secret-migration-5cd-deluxe-edition/
It’s better than that, apply the code on their website and you get a further discount – I got it for £12.19 including postage!
Ordered – that’s a bargain and a half
Actually £10.49 plus shipping using todays code
One of the all time bargains – I picked it up for £15 last week and thought that was cheap, but just over £10 for it is absolutely exceptional.
Just check the discs are ok. I had a manufacturing fault on disc 4 (which Cherry Red sorted immediately and I had a replacement disc in about 2 days, in fairness). I could’ve been unlucky but worth playing all the discs through straight away rather than waiting too long.
They sent replacements for disc 4 a couple of weeks after release. The glitch was on the The Dark is Rising and they told me it was a CD stamper fault. Their customer service was superb so just email for a replacement if necessary.
That’s interesting, Matt. I received mine yesterday and my disc 4 is also faulty. It seems to affect the last 2 tracks. I’ve not listened to all of the discs, but it sounds like there may be a problem with disc 4 in the manufacturing, as you say.
Disappointed I could’ve saved an extra fiver, but it’s a great set even at full price. Hope Cherry Red come through with a replacement disc for me too.
I need that replacement disc too. Can someone post the mail address to use ? Thanks
Manu,
Here [email protected]
Thanks for the heads up , I played disc 4 1st and also had a faulty one ….which cherry red replaced with one email within 2 days ..great service
Amazon Warehouse UK has Level 42 – The Complete Polydor Years Volume 2 for £32 after the Black Friday discount (appears at checkout)
HMV are offering 33% off on selected vinyl..269 items using the code VINYL33
Quite a few of the recent motorhead sets in there.
For those of you in the UK:
Not limited to Black Friday but still a good deal, the Porcupine Tree-box “The Delerium Years” is down from 125 GBP to 100 GBP on Burning Shed.
Amazon DE seem to have the pick of the “on the day” Black Friday deals
Bob Dylan – Springtime In New York Deluxe CD set – £69
Bob Dylan – More Blood More Tracks deluxe CD – £77
Bob Dylan – Rolling Thunder Revue 1975 Recordings 14CD set – £43
Motown Complete Number 1s 11CD set – £67
Tangerine Dream – Pilots Of Purple Twilight – £56
Iggy Pop – Bowie Years – £37
Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus Deluxe Box (2CD/DVD/BR) – £21
Bob Marley – Complete Island Recordings – £19
Hi Matt,
thanks for posting these, as always.
Not much that i haven’t bought yet, but i went for the Iggy Pop-set and the 4-cd-set simply called The Jimi Hendrix Experience (18€) from some years ago because that one got good reviews at the time and both sets include AutoRip (at least for those of us in Germany and Austria).
I’d like to add that there are lots of boxes with classical music included in the box-set offers on Amazon Germany as well though i can’t say if these are really cheap because i’m not so much into classical music myself. If you are just check out yourself.
Yes, that Hendrix box is excellent (possibly my favourite of all the archive stuff of the past 20 years), as is the Iggy Pop!
Jumping on Dylans Springtime in New York. Thank you
Simple Minds – Street Fighting Years 4CD has dropped for a 3rd time in the last day or so to £21
Jesus Christ Superstar 50th Cd set down to £30.18 on Amazon UK
I bought the standard edition of this when it was released. I’m a fan of CD’s, but man did they drop the ball on the packaging and booklet. Talk about cheap and nasty. I instantly regretted not buying the larger box. I fixed that today!
Elton Johns 8x CD Jewel Box is currently £52 on Amazon UK
Rarewaves.com has a 10% discount. Code is RWBF10. Especially their pricing for the Falco Emotional box is already very low and then after the 10%, it was $26. I also got the new Paul Haig The Warp of Pure Fun 3cd box for $22 and the Donna Summer new Rainbow remix album for $20. That’s wayyyy lower than Amazon anywhere. Happy Thanksgiving from the US!!
Thanks for the tip @Kauwgompie! I picked up the Paul Haig 4 CD box set for “The Warp of Pure Fun”, as well. Even with shipping cost to the US, it was still a good deal.
I know it isn’t Black Friday yet but these deals don’t seem to really be anything to excite. I vaguely remember last year was the same. But thanks for the alert last week on the Joni box that was a real bonus!. I was hoping that the Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy would come down significantly but as yet no sign of it.
Yeah, apart from Amy Winehouse at the BBC vinyl set, nothing at all.
Yes, it’s more of a Grey Friday this year.
Hi Wayne, seems to be down to £95 at the moment, not a big reduction but it’s something
https://amzn.to/3nSVZPX
Thanks for that but still a little high. I was hoping to eventually get it around the £80 mark. I’ve paid full price for the other three of them and had my fingers burned by reductions on each two months later!. This one for some reason is stubbornly keeping to the same approx price?.
Those in UK might want to check out the Resident website. There’s a flash sale on there at the moment. Too many to mention but good reductions. I got Patti Smith Horses – white vinyl NAD for £14.99, Kirsty McColl Kite clear vinyl £11.99, Creedence Clesrwater Blue vinyl £12.99, Manics latest with free 7″ single is only £12.99
Glad I waited for a deal on the Iron Maiden deluxe, that’s a great price. Thanks to whoever found it.
Rarewaves have a Black Friday 10% off code (RWBF10).
This or the normal signup 10% off code gets the Joni Mitchell archives volume 2 for £35.72. Slightly more expensive than the previous Amazon.fr deal I guess but still cheap!
Amazon uk rory gallagher box set £49.90
The 4CD Sex Pistols set, 76-77, is down to £36 on Amazon UK.
Rory Gallagher’s self titled 50th Anniversary deluxe editions (vinyl and CD) have been added to Black Friday offers. Vinyl is £36.50, the 4CD/DVD is £50.
Mark Knopfler’s Studio Albums 1996-2007 CD set is down to £25.
Elton John’s lovely Jewel Box is also down to a GREAT value £52.
And if you don’t want to get the Stones’ Goats Head Soup set from Germany, it’s down to £66 on Amazon UK.
That Iron Maiden deal mentioned earlier is £9.99 down from £ 17.99
The Beach Boys: “Feel Flows” vinyl-set:
https://amzn.to/30XRjQ7
Sgt Peppers box 61.99 EUR at amazon.nl and at bol.com. 63,99 EUR at mediamarkt.be.
WHSmith have a £10 off deal for Black Friday, which means that you can get the new Bowie box set for £85 (with free delivery) until Friday at midnight.
Yeah, but they sell stock they don’t have, and then it takes a lot of time and hassle to get your money back. This is based on my experience pre-ordering the Kim Wilde box set from them with a similar offer.
Amazon cancelled my order of Can live in Brighton vinyl stating limited availability! In a surprise move I got £3 gift card as a measure of good will.
Robert Plant’s Digging Deep box set is a few £ off down to £73 on Amazon UK and £70 on This Is Dig.
https://amzn.to/3nQl2mK
Dunno if anyone here went for the offer I posted here regarding the “Can live in Brighton” lp set for £13 on Amazon UK.
I just got my order cancelled due to ‘supply’ issues, money refunded plus £3 for my disappointment. Mmmmmm….
Possibly their go-to get-out for pricing it too low?
Amazon Germany:
Frank Zappa The Mothers [Box Set, 4CD] 29,99 EUR.
Not quite the cheapest it’s been but Pink Floyd – A Momentary Lapse of Reason (2019 Remix) CD + Blu Ray is £27 on Amazon FR
https://amzn.to/2Zl4sSC
Amy Winehouse – Live at the BBC LTD 3 LP is again a good price in Amazon Germany 17,99 € https://amzn.to/3nQeDs3
Bjork’s Utopia on vinyl only 12.97 EUR at Amazon.de
https://amzn.to/30SMRm4
Thanks for posting this – just ordered!
HELP! – I’m in the UK. When pre-ordering from other EU Amazon sites, if available, I usually tick the “pay in GBP” option where available, which sometimes adds an “exchange rate guarantee fee” onto the order. I’m wondering if this is a waste of time, as I often seem to get hit with approx £2 additional charge to my card for “non sterling transaction” anyway? As a UK buyer, might I be better paying in Euros, avoiding the Amazon “exchange rate guarantee fee” and just taking the one hit with my card’s non sterling fee? SDE Reader advice or shared experience would be appreciated. Thanks.
I pay in Euros on my Nationwide card, which has no transaction fee as part of the package. I worked out it was several percent cheaper, many years ago.
Get something like a Revolut card, rates very close to actual market rates and no transaction fees on currency exchanges
Thanks Paul for the Certain Ratio heads up.Been looking to get this for ages and under 20 quid including priority delivery (brought from Amazon Germany tomorrow is brilliant.
Damn, missed that. No longer available :(
Just bought it a few minutes ago (20.45 UK time) which was after your comment was submitted Richard so could be worth you checking back on Amazon.de as they clearly relisted it in the last hour.
Keith Richards Live at the Hollywood Palladium super deluxe boxset is only 45,83 Euro on Amazon Germany at the moment of writing.
PJ Harvey Uh Huh Her – demos vinyl is 14€ on Amazon.de
The thing that frustrates the life out of me and that’s being very polite is when I see an offer and then see it’s on one of Amazon’s subsidiary websites like Italy, Germany, America etc. because as much as I hate to moan about the subject, because I live in Northern Ireland I can’t avail of said offers unless they’re on the UK website which in a way isn’t a bad thing as I’d probably spend a whole lot more money but I would however prefer things as they had been pre-Brexit ie at least having the opportunity to to take an offer on something rather than it being denied to me. I know I’m not the only Northern Ireland person on here but still, it drives me up the walls that we’re being marginalised yet again because of politics!
Amazon’s Euro sites have no problem in delivering to NI as due to the Protocol NI is treated as part of the internal market. I’ve ordered a few LPs from both Amazon.DE & .FR with no problems.
Stevie, this was definitely the case for the first half of the year, with Northern Ireland customers unable to order from any Amazon international sites. The worst of both worlds. However, the problem seems to have been resolved, for the EU sites at least. I tested France, Germany and Italy and the good news is they seem to be now shipping to Northern Ireland. Amazon’s US and Japan sites, however, are still not shipping here.
Amazon Germany:

And when you register your phone number for text messages, you get 10% off. I switched mine off after my order. Got my Matt Berry box for $25 and Mark knopfler box for $29 after the 10%. Both free shipping. No brainer.
They’ve got a 15% off coupon available now. Paid $65 for Trevor Rabin’s Changes box, which I’ve only seen around $150.
These deluxe anniversary editions of classic albums, specially The Beatles and The Rolling Stones ones, drive me crazy … I never know whether to take the CD + BR version or the vinyl version, and when in doubt I take both … It happened with Abbey Road, White Album, Let It Be… And Tattoo You, or Prince Sign o ‘The Times … The Stones then did many editions where the CD and vinyl versions differ somewhat, such as the LP + DVD (Havana, Hyde Park, etc …), forcing people to buy the BR individually …
I share your pain. I would prefer a vinyl set WITH a Blu Ray (for the surround sound mix), but this will never happen. If they wised up and produced separate Blu Rays every time, then there’s even more money to be made for the record companies, as a vinyl set plus separate Blu Ray is always going to cost significantly more than the equivalent CD+BR version. As it is, I will tend to go for the CD + BR set when there’s surround sound included.
Yep doadie, vinyl + BR would be the top, as you can have both analog and digital at his best. But clearly they didn’t make it intentionally. I agree with you: if there’s some BR audio out there, I normally buy the single/double remastered vinyl and CD+BR deluxe edition.
Just been sent this offer from Udiscover……
https://store.udiscovermusic.com/*/*/Flaming-Pie-Collector-s-Edition-Box-Set/6JQV0000000?utm_campaign=uDemail&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Storeemail
This box is beautiful but incredible stupid. It’s far too big.
Agree, I literally have not got enough room in the house for it.
Mine is still in the cardboard box. It’s a special Flaming Pie box if I remember correctly, just like the Prince Sign O The Times box. Picked it up on a sale for $300. Probably good collector’s item. I’m baffled it’s not sold out yet, probably because it’s all a bit too much.
Snagged The Beatles – I was always interested in this one but the price was too high for my taste. As I also had an 8€ voucher, I could get the price down a bit more too (also bought Carl Verheyen’s new album “Sundial”).
Thanks Paul!
Which boxset of The Beatles did you bought?
“The Beatles”, as I said ;) (aka “White Album”)
The recent 3CD/LP super deluxe edition of Stone Temple Pilots – Tiny Music… Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop is down to £37 on Amazon UK at the moment.
Simple Minds – Street Fighting Years 4CD box has dropped again, and is now £24.
The Zappa 3CD Original Soundtrack (2CD Zappa compilation + a CD of the score from the movie) is down to £10.
A minor deal for Amazon Spain, https://amzn.to/3CUYq9i

The triple coloured vinyl ‘Ogdens Nutgone Flake’ is £38.49 on Amazon UK. Not sure what I paid, but seems OK.
can’t see it?
***sorry ignore!*** found it now :-)
Amazon IT won’t deliver the Sgt Peppers box (or the Abbey Road one) to the UK as far as I can tell.
BUT you can pick up the Neil Young – Way Down In The Rust Bucket super deluxe box set (4LP / 2CD / DVD) for £65 incl delivery, which is a decent price.
https://amzn.to/3FJFyM9
The same for Germany. I couldn’t get the Sgt. Pepper box.
I got it (the 6CD edition) as far as into my basket without any complaint for delivery to GB by the 29 November. Didn’t want to go any further as I don’t actually want it…
The problems start, when you’re trying to pay. You’ll get a notice, that there’s no delivery to certain countries.
Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake 3xLP box set @ £38.49 on amazon UK…only 7 left!

When I click on the link for The Band-Stagefright, it’s listed at 118, not 58. Is it because the deal is over or because I’m in the US?
Appears to be over.
I’m not surprised it didn’t last long, it was so over priced to begin with.
Amazon Spain, have :
Bruce Springsteen The Album Collection – Volume 2 – vinyl box for €104
My 25 cube ikea kallax now has 10 empty cubes thanks to a bit of a eBay clear out, and a hospice shop drop off, and now it is Black Friday coming up and I’m on SDE deals, what could possibly go wrong , lol. I have a strict criteria now, and it’s no bulky boxes, I’ve traced my first cd box set back to 1999, Madness The Lot, it’s the first time I’ve played it since then I think, in my Brennan now. I’ve swapped a few hundred CDs for some mission lx speakers, it’s hard downsizing but nice being able to walk around a room without tripping up.
You are very brave Antonio. I have thought about doing exactly what you have done for so many years and never quite get round to it. So much that I haven’t listened to in decades.
I really must do it, though as I am getting rather old and no one else will be interested sadly.
What is the Brennan like?
@Antonio, I did a significant purge of my music collection a few years ago and sold at least a third of my collection including my 2-Tone ska 7″s but of course I am now in the process of building it back up (the CDs at least). Several items are now hard to find and costing more than they had which is frustrating. I go through these cycles every few years. I did keep my copy of Madness’ The Lot set though. ;)

£6.95 delivery
Yeah not paying that delivery charge, too much.
The rolling stones 3 cd london singles collection is down to 10-79 on amazon uk
Importcds.com has the Depeche Mode 101 box for only $80 and the 10% off applies even though it is a pre-order so I bought it for $72!! On Amazon.com that box is $120 and that is the lowest of all Amazons according to Paul’s widget except in France where it is $106. At Amazon UK it is $147. If that box is just as limited as the Mode box, get it now!

@Kauwgompie, thanks for the tip on this. Just ordered!
I also ordered the David Bowie Brilliant Adventure [1992-2001] CD box set for $93.49 with that coupon. $4.99 shipping. Even without the coupon it is $104 (vs $138 on AMZ US and $160 retail).
I tried using the coupon for the Howard Jones BBC CD box set but it said it was only valid for ‘in-stock’ items so the fact that DM 101 and the Bowie boxes qualified is a fluke.
The importcds.com coupon expires today at midnight CST (code: TENOFF).
Haha, same! I ordered the Bowie box and tried Howard Jones as well as a bunch of others. As it relates to pre-orders, only 101 and Brilliant Adventures worked. I also send in a deal on DeepDiscount.com but that wasn’t published here. The Metallica Black Album for $9.95.

Thanks for the tip on this @Kauwgompie! I was going to hold off on the DM 101 boxset, but decided this was an acceptable price for me and picked it up.
It’s not marked as a BF deal, but Amazon US has the Beatles White Album SDE for $86.66 after clipping the coupon on the page. Lowest price ever on Amazon US, says Camelx3.
Really good price on The Beatles White Album 6CD/BR set from Amazon DE – down to £59.

Cheers Matt
sgt pepper’s is down on amazon italy too. https://amzn.to/3l26A9u
Disappointingly, can’t get them to deliver it to the UK. Could be a weight thing, because you can get the Neil Young Archives II box delivered fine (would be £73, all-in, which would be a bargain if I didn’t already have it) – that’s more expensive but much lighter.
That didn’t last long…
5LP version of All Things Must Pass is 73£, 5CD – 83£. It doesn’t make any sense…
Let It Be super deluxe edition also down to £85 on Amazon
Sound Of Vinyl (USA) have 40% off store-wide. Not all releases qualify for a discount (the Achtung Baby 30th LP for instance) but a couple of the All Things Must Pass sets you can get the discount on – the 8LP Super Deluxe can be had for $119 US (instead of $199) and the 5LP Deluxe for $53 (instead of $89). Decent savings. They do not have the 5CD + BluRay version, and sorry, no discount on the Uber box.
In fact, store-wide there are some great deals to be had on box sets and the likes – 40% is a decent discount!
For instance the 2020 1x LP remaster of TFF’s Seeds of Love can be had for $14 US with the discount and it applies to all the ABBA Voyage variants.
And shipping is FREE.
Affiliate store udiscovermusic also had the same discount going but it does not always apply to the same items. The discount can’t be applied George Harrison sets mentioned above.
And although both stores are UMG – they both seem to carry slightly different inventories, and many artist/titles are non existent, so pickings can be slim.
Uk SOV & record store are less generous by offering us Brits 20% off.
that’s a cheap move – sorry!
Aye Skreama, it’s pitiful. Then add the p&p, any saving is either wiped out or minimal.
You should be happy. musicvaultz.com gives nothing!
The only Harrison box you need includes that piece of tree.
Hmmm, still far too much for what’s offered. We’ll see what happens by the end of the week.
Universal Music’s US uDiscover Music store is offering 40% off and free shipping within the USA through 11/30. There are some exclusions including the George Harrison ‘All Things Must Pass’ CD/Blu-ray box set, the Kiss ‘Destroyer’ CD/Blu-ray box set and the new U2 ‘Achtung Baby’ vinyl sets but most items appear to qualify. Lots of great items on sale including box sets by Nirvana, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, The Beach Boys, Elton John, The Who, The Rolling Stones etc. As an example, Paul McCartney’s Flaming Pie Collectors Edition box set drops from $600 to $360. Discounts appear automatically when you put the items in your cart. If it doesn’t show as discounted once in the cart then it is excluded from the sale.

The coupon works (or did yesterday at least) on the Beatles Let It Be SDE. The CD version is $84, which is the best price I’ve seen yet.
@Greg P, I ordered that as well yesterday along with the White Album and Abbey Road boxes. Had been considering the boxes for these and decided to finally pull the trigger. Sgt. Peppers was sold out however. I see above in the comments the White Album is even cheaper at AMZ US (still see that deal this morning). Hit Best Buy last night and stocked up on 4K and Blu-Ray movies. Black Friday is always a wallet-buster…
kchermmm… Pass?
