Just when you thought the Black Friday deals were hard to keep up with, Amazon Germany are repeating what they did back in September, and that is price-matching local competitor Saturn with an outstanding 3-for-2 offer. You can buy three music box sets and get the third (the cheapest) for nothing, regardless of the price-tag. This deal runs until Saturday 24 November.

Thousands of items are eligible, although remember you do have to buy from Amazon Germany direct and not any third party sellers. Also the discount will be automatically applied at the last stage of checkout.  This link gives you the list of ALL CDs and vinyl in the deal where you can search, but below are a selection of SDE favourites that are all in the deal!

  2. Good prices on German Amazon site for Pink Floyd Early Years individual box sets. Not 3 for 2 but works out about same as if it was compared to uk prices

  9. I think the promotion has been cut or something, all the boxsets are gone, I had few things on my basket and they’re not on promotion anymore. Also, if I open the link at top of the page I got the message that the promotion has expired, damn.

    1. Just checked and it seems you’re right. So Saturn (where the offer is still valid) and SDE seem to finally have brought Amazon to their limits. ;-)

  11. Still haven’t received delivery (to the U.S.) of an October 1st order from Amazon.de. I’ve got a DHL tracking number, but it hasn’t moved in weeks. Anyone else have this issue?

    1. Do you see it actually moving location? They “lost” my first DHL delivery (DHL showed paperwork being registered but it was apparently wrong) and I had to pester them repeatedly to send it again (they insisted everything was OK). Contact Support repeatedly until they finally do something. Amazon Germany is poor.

      1. The package wasn’t moving, or appear to ever be picked up. Thank you for affirming that my situation wasn’t normal, and that I needed to contact Amazon.de. I did contact Amazon.de and they are resending the package. Appreciate the support. Cheers

  12. The Sweet/Sensational Box Set currently at 35.99 Euros in the 3 for 2,which even on its own
    is a big saving on Amazon UK current price of £54.00.

  13. Thanks Paul… Grabbed most of the 2017 Iron Maiden LPs (inc. Book of Souls Live Chapter) and Pink Floyd’s Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Great savings… if only Amazon UK could do similar :)

    1. There is no corrected version yet. You have to wait.
      I think people are really overreaction on this. There is a small glitch on a song that every Bowiefan have multiple times and everyone is shouting and yelling that the whole set is not worth buying. Get a life because this set is excellent.

  15. Damn, Who Can I Be Now? is not included. Could have done the 3/2 on Bowie but now have to find something else I probably don’t want. I think they did this on purpose!

  24. Don’t think I would ever say this but because of the insane amount of Paul’s Deal Alerts, I have pretty much every box I ever wanted…I still want the R.E.M. AFTP and Ramones’ Rocket To Russia SDE’s but can’t think of a third box and if I do (Serge Gainsbourg Integrale) it is so expensive in Germany that I’m better off buying it from the 3rd party market sellers here in the USA.
    BTW, it’s time for an SDE 2018 wish list. I’m hoping for Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA (including period remixes), Eurythmics SDE’s, The Smiths Strangeways…, will there ever be a Duran Duran SDE with demo’s, alternative versions, etc? A Wedding Album Deluxe version? High time for that!!

    Just bought the REM and Queen sets on Amazon UK. Otherwise could have got the Sgt Pepper I’ve been after. Or maybe Flowers in the dirt (I daren’t see how much that is)….

  27. The Gorillaz Humanz LP released on 24th November 2017 is also included. I am expecting (fingers crossed) that this will be the Picture Disc as I am not aware of any black vinyl version coming out on the 24th. Amazon France have this clearly described as the picture disc but Amazon Germany and UK don’t clarify this. Anyway it is £42.99 on amazon uk so to get it on amazon.de for £22 as part of a 3 for 2 is great.

  28. I’d be careful. Did this back in Sept. Picked up the China Crisis reissues dirt cheap. They took forever, came in 3 separate packages and were fairly battered by the time they reached the States. I can only imagine how poor the packing and delays will be for boxsets at this time of the year. You may well get a gift that will need to go back. I would have sent mine back, but negotiating the process in German looked maddening. The prices are super but still seems like a roll of the dice. Especially to the States. Good luck.

I used Chrome, which translates everything, when I had a problem I googled “contact Amazon.de in English” and there was a button to ensure you got through (on the phone) to an English speaker, they called me on a callback so it didn’t even cost anything. Of the 30 or so items I have bought from Germany (to the UK), I had a problem with two and they were sorted very quickly and to my advantage. I don’t know what to say to those that had issues, I am nothing special (in fact I’m a bit of a bore – loving the half speed ABBA The Album) just did a bit of research, stayed very calm and polite and it was sorted.

    2. Also suffered terribly with the last 3-for-2 deal. Their Support is terrible, made worse no doubt from translating. I had to fight over and over and over to even get them to ship the damn stuff. Took 6 weeks of pain all up. Amazon brand tarnished heavily in my mind as a result.

If you don’t want to see ALL music-related articles in the offer but only the box sets you can tick a box in the left column under the menupoint: Edition and you will just see all the BOX-SETS available in the offer. You can then sort it pricewise and don’t have to search for long for the expensive things.

    £128!!! The good thing is I intended buying all three box sets at some point and wasn`t buying any one of them to make up the 3. They would have cost £189 on Amazon UK, a price I would never have paid. I`m really pleased to get the Johnny Cash box set, I missed out when it was going for £48 a few months ago. I was waiting for the Who and Verve boxes to drop to below £40 each so I am happy to pay under £43 for each box.

    RIGHT THAT`S IT!
    No more Black Friday deals! I have all the box sets I want for this year and most likely for next year. From this point on I`m only buying records/box sets from The Beatles, Dylan, Neil Young, The Waterboys and XTC. Oh and Jethro Tull.

  33. Can’t understand why the international postage fee is soooooo much more expensive on Amazon DE than UK. For a 3 LP order, I would pay 6,56 pounds, but 17 Euro! Only worth it if I buy something really expensive, and that’s not going to happen… :/

  39. Take note that you can already order stuff that will be released on Friday, Nov. 24th, like e.g. the Phil Collins Complete sets as part of the offer, but nothing that will be released after that date.
    Interesting for customers living in Germany is that the website of Saturn also allows pre-orders for later releases as part of their offer, like e.g. the Farewall to Kings-set by Rush.

    1. Saturn: Be careful with this, chances are they won’t dulfill the order, as it says ‘items that are released after 25th November are not part of the promotion’.
