Deal alert / Roger Waters / Amused to Death / Analogue Productions 2LP

Great deal for the Analogue Productions double vinyl edition of the 2015 reissue of Roger Waters Amused to Death.

The AP edition is pressed on two 200g vinyl records and has a high quality thick ‘tip-on’ gatefold jacket manufactured at Stoughton Printing and is superior packaging-wise to the very similar Sony edition (the records are identical). This was discussed in detail here.

Anyway, at the time of writing this is just £22 on Amazon UK which is a bargain and getting on for half the price these were selling for last year! For US fans this equates to about $27 (after VAT deductions). For comparison, the price on Amazon US is currently $55.

If you’re not into vinyl the CD+Blu-ray with hi-res 5.1 is less than £13!

  1. Not related to the Roger Waters Deal Alert but the 6-CD Deluxe edition of Bob Dylan’s “Bootleg Series, Volume 12: Cutting Edge 1965 – 1966” is down to £49.99 over at the Amazon UK website.

  2. A wonderful album. I had it on CD when it was first released, but only fully appreciated it when I bought it again on blu-ray. Worth every penny, no matter what you pay, I say. (And I’m usually in the David Gilmour camp of PF listeners.)

  3. But not free delivery anymore Paul. That’s the problem now with one-off <£20 purchases. Something that is bemusing me is why the Amazon Warehouse used copy keeps going up in price. I am after the BD version of Amused to death, and am still kicking myself for not snapping up a copy when I saw it @ £6.99! Since then I kept an eye on the listing, and this week a used copy in very good condition appeared from Amz Warehouse. Over the course of 3 days the price has gone up on it from £8.80 to £10.18 today. It's a crazy policy – why do they do that. If it did not sell at £8.80, do they think it will go at a higher cost? Could it be that Amazon have scripted 'bots' that track people looking at items and raise the cost in anticipation of a sale?

    1. Nail on head there Daran.

I had the 6-disc Fisherman’s Box set by The Waterboys in my basket for 18 months. It went up and down constantly. High as £28 and I finally bit when it fell to £13.

I have a few in there now that are fluctuating. I’ll buy when I’m ready :D
