  1. Japan – Quiet Life box set is £33 on Amazon UK (in the Early BF deals)
    https://amzn.to/3Clcjx7

Also, Prince – Welcome 2 America is currently on Amazon UK for £41, but this is from a 3rd party seller and it has expected delivery to UK not until 20th Dec. So, maybe too good to be true. Amazon’s price is £77 though!

    1. I got mine on a previous deal alert a few months ago and it wasn’t signed. Didn’t make a stink because it was so cheap (£17) so these babies may not be signed but for £19, it’s a steal. Thanks Matt D!!

  2. Thanks for the email as usual.

Had my eye on Neil Young Archives II for a while but the £110 price kept putting me off as I already had two previously released albums from it.

Your email announced £70 from Amazon Italy and it was here in 3 days.

The only issue now is she won’t let me have it until Christmas.

      1. Great price Phil, go for it. I own it and no issues with my copy. I stopped listening to those folk on the Hoffman forums many moons ago, they always try to pick faults. They are a strange lot imo, just enjoy the music

        1. Same thing happened to me years ago on a blu-ray. I preordered for what was probably list price, it shipped on or about release day, and my horror after opening it finding not only did Best Buy have it for $12 less, so did Amazon.

I contacted Amazon customer no-service, asked why I was being penalized for pre-ordering, and all I got was “we can’t adjust the price after it ships.” So I bought a copy at Best Buy, and sent that one back to Amazon.

Sure, I took a $3 hit on return shipping, but still was in a better place than if I hadn’t, and relieved most of my aggravation.

  3. The Official New Order Store have a Black Friday sale running for 2 weeks. Great discounts available. Power, Corruption and Lies super deluxe box set is £73 and the store exclusive Education Entertainment Recreation super deluxe boxset is down to £84

  4. The Beatles Let it Be is showing as €90.93 at Amazon Spain but when added to basket becomes €94.42 without explanation, shipping to UK is €4.68 making it about £85 sterling in total. Still cheaper than the UK price.

  5. Ebay have a 20% early Black Friday thing on. A few bits and pieces in here maybe worth looking at. A few of the recent Al Stewart and Be Bop Deluxe sets are down at around £40-45.

There’s a £9.99 min spend on stuff but if you’re getting a couple of the cheaper things, worth noting that the 2CD deluxe book edition of the Manics’ Restistance Is Futile would be just over £3 (three pounds) after discount, which is an insanely low price.

  6. There’s a 3rd party seller on Amazon UK shifting both the Cat Stevens – Tea For The Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon super deluxe sets for £67 a piece.

(And the Marillion Fugazi deal reappeared at £17)

    1. I’ve ordered from them before & the cd shipped from Newcastle, so i’m assuming that ‘ReflexCD2’ on Amazon is ‘Reflex’ which is a small indie record shop in Newcastle city centre, which I’ve also shopped in physically in the past (& via their own website) – actually, on their own website the sets are even lower at £59.99

    1. I so wanted to get this originally, but bailed out due to the fact I had most of the tracks already on the last anniversary CD set I got. The reviews seem to be a bit hit and miss about it, so I think I’ll leave it.

  7. Current deals on Amazon Italy:

Prince / Sign O’ The Times (SDE) 100 EUR
Neil Young / Archives Vol. 2 (Box) 84 EUR

…and for Opera Buffs and other lovers of classical music:

Maria Callas / Live Recordings (42 cd and 3 blu-ray box on
Warner) incl. 20 complete operas and more 60 EUR

  8. Best of Bond (2xCD) – £7.99
    New Churches – Screen Violence – CD – £4.99
Now Yearbook 1984 (Special edition CD booklet thing) – £10
All on Amazon UK. The first 2 are part of early BF deals.

  9. The US Udiscover Music store has 25% off this week. The Tattoo You box is now $112 and the Let It Be box is now $104, both with free shipping. I had some free UDiscover Music gift cards that I accrued and now redeemed so was able to buy both boxes for under $100. I only buy from there when they have 25% off and somehow had 2 gift cards totaling $26 so keep an eye on that store. They are not bad.

  10. For early Black Friday, Amazon ES has –

Beatles – Let It Be 50th CD set – £81 (Works out to be £87 with postage)
Beatles – Let It Be 50th vinyl – £100 (Works out to be £107 with postage)

  11. Has anyone who ordered the signed Tori Amos CD from her official site actually received it?

Mine arrived today, and it’s not signed. Despite the order confirmation, despatch email and the delivery note with the disc saying “Ocean To Ocean Signed CD”.

          1. Phil, Mine wasn’t signed either – no signature on either the cover or booklet, and definitely no signed card enclosed (or ‘SIG’ sticker). Like you my original invoice and the delivery note which came with the CD clearly states signed – very disappointing. Immediately raised a query with customer services, so we’ll see … Ho hum …

    1. Phil – my experience is exactly as yours is, the “SIG” shrink wrap, but no insert card and I’ve checked each of the many pages and the sleeve itself and nothing is signed at all, so I have written to customer services asking them to sort. Clearly they do the signed thing to get people to buy earlier and help a better chart position, rather than wait and buy at a discount (although a #25 entry may not have been worth it!) That they can’t even sort out inserts in at least two “Signed” copies is pathetic. Hopefully this will be resolved by them sending a separate card, but then they will incur extra postage and admin and if all the signed cards have been used, will they ask Tori to sign some more for the missing ones? It shouldn’t be this hard to do a decent job – do they actually pay someone to check them – might be worth it!

      1. So that’s three now including me – wonder how many more there are – very poor (last time this happened was with the latest Ricky Warwick album, and whoever fulfils for him then acknowledged these were widely missing and sent out signed booklets under separate cover) – hopefully this can be remedied otherwise I will be requesting a refund since if we just shrug and accept it then things won’t improve going forward.

    1. Fleetwood Mac Live 3CD is price matched at £11.99 at HMV on the website and instore. Reductions on the HMV website and instore also for Supergrass In For The Money 3CD at £11.99, Roger Taylor Outsider CD for £8.99 and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Angel Dream CD at £8.99

  12. Not much going on at the moment, but over on Amazon UK both the new Pretenders 3CD releases (Pretenders & Pretenders II) came out today and immediately dropped £6 to £30 each.

(side note – the Bowie deal is finished)

  13. Primal Scream – Screamadelica: The Singles 12″ box set is £10 off down to £99 on Amazon UK (just give the vinyls a really good check over if you get it – from the reviews on the site it’s getting pelters for quality control issues)

    1. Yep! I was one of those people! What you’ll find is that the tracks on the A sides of the 1st 2 12″ singles are the wrong way round ie the farley mix is on the original mix 12″ and vice versa plus the 1st 12″ has annoying click/jump on the b side on I’m losing more than I’ll ever have. Happily these tracks are repeated on the 2nd 12″ but that’s not the point, the quality control is rubbish even though it’s come down in price. I bought it elsewhere and had the same issue having had it replaced and therefore bought it twice from Amazon. The 3rd time is exactly the same as the other 2 from Amazon but the website I bought it from let me keep it rather than return it and refunded me the money so it wasn’t so bad but I hope at some point Sony might replace them though I dunno if I’m the only one affected.

  14. 15% off when you spend £20 at eBay until Thursday. Some great deals to be had.

GnR – Appetite For Destruction Super Deluxe – £38
    Rory Gallagher 50th Anniversary 5CD set – £66
    Sex Pistols 76/77 4CD box set – £39
The Beach Boys : Feel Flows: The Sunflower & Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 CD set – £65
Bowie – Brilliant Adventures CD set – £82
Beatles – Abbey Road Super Deluxe CD set £44
George Harrison – All Things Must Pass super deluxe vinyl – £150

Loads of other non-deluxe recent releases and pre-orders in there too (e.g. Oasis Knebworth blu-ray is £14 if you’re buying more than one thing to take it over the £20 threshold, for example)

  15. Yet.. Bezos can fly to the UK IN $48 Mill Jet for 2 days but cant ship a lower cost CD en massa out of Canada? Mr Trudea has this one sown up for sure.
May I suggest Paul, you start slowly distancing yourself from Amazon? Merely a suggestion bien sur? Nothing to come out of Canada, nothing to go in to Canada? what is going on?

    1. There was a 10″ EP issued which was exclusive to Bowie store. Probably Width of a Circle wasn’t on vinyl due to long lead times and sales may not have been high enough for a production run, especially as it would probably have been a triple LP. Finding myself less likely to buy Bowie vinyl these days after the RSD exclusives and the stress of getting Brilliant Live Adventures. And the very high prices. Will probably just listen to this and the forthcoming Toy and Brilliant Adventures on Apple Music unless they all drop very dramatically in price.
I have been picking up the old Ryko CDs on eBay on the cheap in recent months.

    1. If you’re a hardcore Bowie fan you’ll want it. However, after what we got with the Space Oddity celebration, this feels lightweight. Also, the book in this set is a little dull. Not to mention, I paid full price for it on release, and that was £17.95 – so the savings here are a little less than £4. Honestly, I personally think it feels half-baked. Hopefully they do something (considerably) better for Hunky Dory.

      1. Yes, and it’s so frustrating how Bowie’s reissues have no homogeneity. I was so disappointed with this after the excellent Conversation Piece. It’s as if they give every new reissue to a different design team. The only consistent thing is that they are always inconsistent.

          1. They announced a series running from Space Oddity through Alladin Sane, if I recall correctly. As such, you’d think the series would be consistent. Goodness knows what we’re going to get with Hunky Dory.
