  1. 20% sale on stuff at Chalky’s and Music Magpie on eBay – I know that a lot of people have had issues with them but if you’re willing to take a punt and do a lot of trawling there’s some big savings available. Code is LOVE20OFF.

  2. It’s about time the Let It Be SDE came down to a sensible price. And not just the amazon price of £83 which is the maximum price it should have been to start with. Has it been under £80 anywhere yet?

    1. I was thinking the same, but with all the other activity going on around this album/film/rooftop concert, etc. I figured the price would stay around that for a while yet. And I’m not in any rush :)

  3. I have noticed that the blu-ray/CD set of Script for a Jester’s Tear is back in general circulation at about £25. Amazon UK currently have stock. I hope The Clutching at Straws set comes back like this too as I missed it first time around.

    1. My PF Knebworth CD arrived this afternoon. The quality of the print is shockingly bad, so wondering if I have a bad one (counterfeit?) or if that’s just the way it is. Is anyone able to comment? I’ll probably return it.

  4. Just ordered the Prince one after much procrastination on the matter due to it arriving with some folk and the discs were scratched. Will have to examine it closely upon arrival. Fingers crossed!

  5. The Dylan 4CD Another Self Portrait box is £53 on Amazon DE. Remains my favourite Bootleg Series box due to the way it forces a reappraisal of the Self Portrait album (side note – if you already own Self Portrait on standalone CD you can probably stick to the 2CD version of this Bootleg release – you’d miss out on the really decent Isle Of Wight Festival CD but the 4th disc is just the original album remastered and the really good stuff is on those first two outtakes CDs).

      1. i prefer to listen and enjoy something as soon as possible. I paid £14 for my box set when it was first released. The price of this box set, as I stated above has been around £17 since its release and below that price on many occasions. I appreciate lots of people do not have bottomless pockets, myself included but waiting to save a couple of £s on an item that is already VERY cheap...like I said I prefer to get something I want ASAP.

Ive just paid £113 for The Band Cahoots S.D.E. knowing that in 12 months it will be available for half the price and I`m not bothered. I will have had 12 months of enjoyment from this box set, you cannot put a price on that.

        1. I understand your point. I’m waiting not so patiently on a serious price drop on All Things Must Pass, Teaser and the Firecat, and All That You Can’t Leave Behind. The thrill of owning something on first release does, for me too, exceed the satisfaction of making a significant saving somewhere down the line, but now the 70’s are half a century ago, there’s an awful lot of great product out there, with much more to come and frustratingly I can’t afford to dive in on Day 1 very often.

        2. Fair points and thanks for the considered reply. I have waited years to explore Marley’s work so a few more days or weeks won’t hurt. I do want to get things at the lowest price, though. It’s difficult to justify certain purchases in a time of rising bills and inflation so a few ££ saved here and there makes a big difference.

    1. I was lucky enough to catch this deal. I already have quite a few Bob Marley albums on vinyl and two disc SDE releases of quite a few of the albums plus the original CD box set compilation release. For me this wasn’t an essential release but at this price nice to fill a couple of gaps and give me an excuse to revisit his catalogue again

    2. Exactly this, I see it on here time and time again folk complaining the deal has gone but it’s still available for a little more.

Honestly sometimes I wonder are folk just buying the deal.

  6. The new cd version of Now That’s What I Call Christmas has just dropped to £5 on Amazon.uk. May I be the first to wish you all a Merry Christmas 2022 ( or probably the last to wish you Merry Christmas 2021).

  7. Well, that Steve Miller box from Germany was a very delightful surprise! I didn’t look too close when I ordered it (prompted but its posting here), so was expecting one of those old fashioned ‘fat’ boxes with 4 discs. Shows my age … Still, I thought a decent price for 4 discs. What I got was a hardback, 3-D image, 10 inch book, heavy and rich, with a range of extras (including photos, a poster and 10 plectrums?!) – all very sumptuously presented. It felt like a marvellous and unexpected treat!

  8. A few people have mentioned the townsend sale. This also includes the latest Garbage re-issues – CDs @ £5
Also a couple of Sparks items – Steady Drip Pic Disc – £15 / CD – £5 and GSAV red vinyl – £15. You have to wade through the endless JLS and Steps cassettes to see them!

  9. Tmstores have a sale on

    https://townsendmusic.store/products?sale=1

    Kylie- guest list, 2cd £5
    Extended mixes, purple vinyl £18
During duran- future past, deluxe CD £10
Richard Ashcroft- acoustic hymns, yellow vinyl + flexi disc £20
Japan- quiet life, box set £30

There’s a lot more on there in various formats as well. Some signed & rsd vinyl. Warning, their postage costs are usually pricey.

  10. 3CD Essential Frankie Goes To Hollywood now only £4.99 on Amazon UK! I pulled the trigger at £5.99 yesterday so could have saved a massive £1 if I’d waited, but less than £2 per CD is pretty good.

    1. With respect Neil, I don’t see many 9 disc deluxe editions of this quality (the box and the music) retailing at £70 on day 1. I wish they were! I paid £100 I think, and considered that a great price. Compared to most boxes of unreleased material, I think this was great value. Don’t get me started on the recent Welcome2America deluxe though…

    2. There is a lot of really good stuff in that box. Three discs of unreleased tracks, an unreleased concert on audio and another on DVD, plus the remastered main album and a host of single mixes. The CD box set was always pretty good value.

    3. Absolutely agree with you Neil. I look at box sets like the King Crimson series where you get something like “Starless” 23 CD’s and 4 DVD/Blu Ray, now that’s a £100 box set. I waited and got mine for £85. Tangerine Dream In Search Of Hades 17CD and 2 Blu Ray retail £80ish I got mine for £50. Unreleased or not a general rule is £5 a disc for me, it used to be that way the Record Companies are trying for £12 – £15 a disc. We are being ripped off.

    1. A couple of weeks ago I was browsing HHV and found the Stage Fright box for €21.99 and the self-titled box for €29.99!!! I thought it was a mistake or something and waited for a minute or two in disbelief. I ordered both and they arrived within the week. Both were brand new!! I was, and still am, shocked. Amazing value. Cahoots was also there for €21.99 but I didn’t pull the trigger on that one.

    1. Mine arrived yesterday. There’s clearly some background jiggerypokery going on as my copy clearly has its origins in the U.K. rather than Germany, whereas the Bob Marley set that I ordered at the same time is currently in a customs shed in Belgium having started its journey in Spain.

  11. I was lucky enough to get the Marley box set on Amazon France when it was on offer, but that deal at Amazon Germany was an even better deal l believe. The Tpau deal is very good. Cover isn’t the greatest, but it’s well worth £3.

    1. That’s an amazing price – nice one! I’ve been enjoying that reissue since early October 2021…disc two with the 49 minute live show at The Boathouse in 1991 is a blast. I remember seeing The Femmes in Chicago in 1986 when Dwight Yoakam was the supporting/first act…it was insantity. Dwight played three songs with his back taunting a booing crowd and finally turned around, gave everyone the bird, and walked off stage. I’ve been a fan of Dwight Yoakam ever since.

  12. Tried to add Marley to basket and just kept getting ‘your basket is empty’ messages. Seems to have gone at that price now. That’s saved me some money I really didn’t need to spend!
