  1. Black Sabbath Sabotage (Super Deluxe Edition) (Vinyl) for 91$cad at Amazon.ca (March 2).Elton John Jewel 4 LPs box at 53 $. Wildflowers & All The Rest (Deluxe) (7 Vinyls box set) at 167$; Motohead Ace Of Spades (Box Set) (Vinyl) at 167$. and Bowie Toy (Toy:Box) (Vinyl) at 113 $.

  2. Today Feb 27, foolish price for the Elton John Jewel Box (Deep Cuts) (4LP Vinyl): 59 $ cad on Amazon.ca, that’s 15$/LP ! and Jewel Box (Rarities & B-Sides) (3LP Vinyl) for 44 $
Also at 59 $ Steppenwolf excellent 8cds box set Magic Carpet Ride: The Dunhill / ABC Years 1967-1971

  3. The RCA Albums Collection 17 cd box set by Harry Nilsson is only £36.99 on Amazon UK

Father John Misty’s Pure Comedy 2 x LP is £12.99. It’s listed as the assorted covers version, which it isn’t. However, at that price it’s still worth having.

  4. Spot this today at Amazon.ca:

    • Noel Gallagher’ Back The Way We Came: Vol. 1 (2011 – 2021) (2 Vinyls) is at 29 $cad and the boxset (3cds, 3 vinyls) at 98$cad;
    • Frank Zappa 200 Motels: Motion Picture Soundtrack (50th Anniversary) (2LP) at 35 $cad
    • Neil Young Vol II box set still at 126 $cad
    • The Band, The Capitol Albums 1968-1977 (8 LP Vinyl Boxed Set) at 169$cad
    • Tom Petty Wildflowers & All The Rest (Deluxe) (7 Vinyls box set) at 167$ cad AND £108 at Amazon UK
  5. Not a megadeal, perhaps, but the John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band Ultimate CD set is down to £70.45 on Amazon UK. It’s been hanging around the £80-£90 price point since Christmas so this latest reduction was enough to get me to bite.

  6. The wildly overpriced new Blu ray version of Pink Floyd’s PULSE has dropped about £10 since Friday to £43 on Amazon UK.

Still £20 too much for me, but if you’re really keen to get your hands on it…

    1. I have to say you’re right and I got it at the pre-order price of £43. I have the double DVD and the picture quality is no better on the blu ray plus it has annoying black bars down the side of the screen which no matter how much you fiddle with aspect ratio of the telly it makes no odds. The DVD displays it in full screen mode. Bearing in mind that it was bizarrely recorded on video tape back in the 90s when digital recording would despite it being in its infancy would have been possible so why video tape? I’d say about the only advantage of the blu ray is you get the whole concert on one disc with the extras on the second disc where with the double DVD it’s split over the 2 discs and the extras are split over the 2 discs. Also the extras themselves are almost the same, though there are things like “bootlegging the bootleggers” which isn’t on the blu ray and there’s concert audio only that is on the blu ray but not on the DVD. I got the double DVD for £10 in a local record shop which has now long closed and I’d say it’s from 2006 as it’s a remaster/tidy up itself and is far better value. IF the blu ray comes down in price again I’d say go for it but other than that it isn’t worth the money.

  7. Anybody know the rationale (if there is one) regarding what can be ordered from US Amazon if living in the UK.
For example, i couldn’t order the Sabbath vinyl box or The Who box deals, but I can order the Prince box.
Or is it individual artist specific licensing?

      1. If it’s supposed to have an auto rip, email them as they can add it in to your account I believe and sometimes later on they do as they have done with albums I have previously bought some time ago.

  8. Been a reader of this website for years but had never previously joined in with comments. However, I wanted to thank Paul for an amazing website as it has saved me a lot of money over the years and in particular this last week when I picked up the deals for Toy and BLA Bowie on CD this last week. SDE has been and always will be greatly appreciated. Waiting patiently now for the prices to drop on the Vinyl versions of Toy and BLA, before the stock runs out lol. Not sure that the BLA will drop too much though, maybe lower runs on box 5. Seems to selling out in some places.

  9. Marillion’s Fugazi 4 LP box currently $35 @ Amazon US. Not familiar with the work, but it’s highly regarded in the customer reviews and by SDE readers judging by the response after Paul covered the release last summer. Cheers.

  10. I picked up the Prince box the first ludicrous offer that showed up. It doesn’t offer a *lot* more than the individual CD or LP, but the concert video is excellent, and the whole package has the solid (both literally and figuratively) design that I’ve come to expect from the Prince Estate.
Looks like the Let It Be deal is gone? Or maybe just not available for USians. Oh well! I’ll enjoy my cheap Sell Out and Toy Box, and wait for the Let It Be price to drop in the US!

    1. I got it some time last year for the absurd price of $29 (it was on popMarket) and I told a friend almost immediately about it and they were already gone. I think that some places overordered this set and thought it would sell better, so they had sales to get rid of their stock. I imagine Amazon ordered many more and may be doing the same

    1. Yes. About 7 or 8 times. Mixed. They once sent me a Dylan CD that was snapped completely in half, and I’ve had one parcel not show up (they claimed that I hadn’t given my address, which was obviously impossible).

I have a suspicion that they get cheap “battered” stock from a warehouse or something because stuff that turns up often looks like it’s been crushed.

BUT half the stuff I’ve got has turned up fine (I got the Metallica S&M2 CD off them this week for £8). I generally avoid the box sets from them (due to that first missing parcel, which happened to be a box set) but there’s every chance it’ll be fine for you.

Their customer service is also fine – they refund without issue and really quickly too.

    2. I used Momox uk once – through Ebay. Item was supossed to be new but was obviously secondhand. No customer services response. EBay refunded in the end. Momox uk currently have 74% bad rating on Trustpilot. Fingers crossed for your order.

I ordered from Momox in Germany (parent company) many times successfully from Amazon, but the UK version seems problematic.

      1. I’ve used them a few times, and never been suspicious that the item wasn’t described correctly, although one record I bought was sealed, but the cover wasn’t in great condition – the price reflected that though, so no complaints. Orders usually take quite a while to arrive though.

    3. Horrendous company, picked up a boxset off them before Christmas, good price for what it was but still expensive, it arrived water damaged. Returned it to their UK depot as instructed, still waiting for the refund. They won’t refund me until they have received it back at their Germany depot?

      Avoid!! Avoid!! Avoid!!

    4. I’m German and buy from them regularly.

What you should know is that they buy items from people and companies, usually used, but also with the possibility to get some items that are still sealed / shrinkwrapped.

Customer service in Germany is alright.

If the item you got don’t meet your expectations you can send it back and get a refund or keep it and get either a credit or a complete refund depending on the price of the item.

As they’re dealing with used stock they’re not offering to send a faulty item back and got sent another one though.

You’d have to look on their website if the item is still available and have to order it anew.

  11. Hi, I tried to buy the Billy Joel volume 1 vinyl set from PopMarket but at the checkout it says it cannot ship to UK as the package is “too heavy’. Am I missing a trick here as it seems others have not had an issue with shipping?

  12. Thank God the Who deal is over – I do not care much for the album (and “A Quick One”) but at this price I was tempted because of the fantastic packaging. However – I am running out of space…..

  13. just a curious question. received this notice (the who usa) less than an hour ago and seems others have said they got this less than thirty minutes ago though when i click through the deal is gone. has happened many times before. any help would be appreciated.

      1. The SDE email alert usually causes an immediate rush of orders, then stock quickly runs out and/or the price goes up. Be quick or miss out … or find the bargains before Paul finds out and sends an email! [The Who Sell Out box was at this $59 price for something like 18 hours before the SDE email alert – and had been around $61-$63 for the previous week.]

  14. Billy Joel’s The Vinyl Collection, Vol. 1 is only $73 with free US shipping at Popmarket.com…Its a 9 disc vinyl & book set and is still $165+ at most outlets, originally $250! I’ve found some great deals there and have never had an issue with delivery.

    1. Thanks for the tip @britbandfan. That’s a great deal. You can get an additional 10% off if you set up a new account on the site. I haven’t ordered from their website but have ordered many times from them via Discogs. Believe its tied to the same company that runs importcds.com, the FYE retail chain, deep discount.com, the musique_pour_vous, get import cds, deep discount ebay users etc. All shipping out of the same warehouse in KY.
