Small one but the basic 2CD version of Oasis Knebworth 1996 is £8.94 on Amazon UK.
Prince Welcome 2 America $47.85 on amazon.ca (I will never pre-order again) and Kylie Disco: Guest Edition 3 CD/DVD/BR is $22.54
The RCA Albums Collection 17 cd box set by Harry Nilsson is only £36.99 on Amazon UK
Father John Misty’s Pure Comedy 2 x LP is £12.99. It’s listed as the assorted covers version, which it isn’t. However, at that price it’s still worth having.
Spot this today at Amazon.ca:
The Let It Be box is slowly creeping downwards in price, currently £75.65 on Amazon UK.
The 3CD/BR version of Porcupine Tree’s excellent In Absentia is back down to £62 on Amazon UK
Bowie Toy vinyls box set at 119 $cad and Neil Young vol II at 125 $cad at Amazon.ca. Great price for each set.
The Bob Marley boxset is £13.98 on Amazon UK….looks to be one left at this price
Not a megadeal, perhaps, but the John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band Ultimate CD set is down to £70.45 on Amazon UK. It’s been hanging around the £80-£90 price point since Christmas so this latest reduction was enough to get me to bite.
Heavy Stereo – Deja Voodoo – 25th Anniversary Set *Signed* only £12 from amazon UK. Heavy Stereo features long-time Oasis and Noel/Liam guitarist Gem Archer.
Thanks, was waiting for this to drop a bit, ordered. Will be nice to have Sleep Freak on cd again !
Any Suzi Quattro fans out there? AmazonUK is now listing a 8CD SIGNED box set for a reasonable £39.99. Seems to contain lots of unreleased and live stuff. Due for release in April
Thanks SimonP2. Ordered immediately.
Amy Winehouse ‘At The BBC’ is now under a tenner (£9.99) for the 3CD set on Amazon UK … lowest I’ve seen it I think.
Thanks for this, ordered
Porcupine Tree’s massive box set Delerium Years currently £99 on Amazon UK. Burning Shed had this price in their Christmas sale but have since returned to their RRP of £125.
The Beatles Let it Be deal is back on by the look of it. Currently £76.
The wildly overpriced new Blu ray version of Pink Floyd’s PULSE has dropped about £10 since Friday to £43 on Amazon UK.
Still £20 too much for me, but if you’re really keen to get your hands on it…
I have to say you’re right and I got it at the pre-order price of £43. I have the double DVD and the picture quality is no better on the blu ray plus it has annoying black bars down the side of the screen which no matter how much you fiddle with aspect ratio of the telly it makes no odds. The DVD displays it in full screen mode. Bearing in mind that it was bizarrely recorded on video tape back in the 90s when digital recording would despite it being in its infancy would have been possible so why video tape? I’d say about the only advantage of the blu ray is you get the whole concert on one disc with the extras on the second disc where with the double DVD it’s split over the 2 discs and the extras are split over the 2 discs. Also the extras themselves are almost the same, though there are things like “bootlegging the bootleggers” which isn’t on the blu ray and there’s concert audio only that is on the blu ray but not on the DVD. I got the double DVD for £10 in a local record shop which has now long closed and I’d say it’s from 2006 as it’s a remaster/tidy up itself and is far better value. IF the blu ray comes down in price again I’d say go for it but other than that it isn’t worth the money.
Sorry I just bought the last Welcome 2 America :) Price is back up now to USD 72. But at this moment there are a few more on Ebay UK for £66.
Anybody know the rationale (if there is one) regarding what can be ordered from US Amazon if living in the UK.
For example, i couldn’t order the Sabbath vinyl box or The Who box deals, but I can order the Prince box.
Or is it individual artist specific licensing?
There is no rationale. It’s random and probably algorithm-driven.
Many thanks
Ya can’t be a log that’s being driven.
Black Sabbath “Technical Ecstasy” deluxe vinyl box for 70 USD:
https://amzn.to/3p05nkY
Kylie – Guest List Triple Vinyl down to £20 on Amazon UK at moment
Be aware, the Beautiful Garbage black vinyl deal at £14 DOESN’T include auto-rip (sigh).
That’s correct, but the white vinyl version does!
Yeah, I got the black and white vinyl copies, and didn’t recieve it either.
If it’s supposed to have an auto rip, email them as they can add it in to your account I believe and sometimes later on they do as they have done with albums I have previously bought some time ago.
I tried to nicely persuade them to do that for me via chat yesterday but they said no.
Just ordered the Price box. It has gone up in price by around 4 dollars, but still a massive bargain. Thanks Paul
For US fans, the Kylie purple double vinyl is still available on Tonwsend Music for $24.49.
Been a reader of this website for years but had never previously joined in with comments. However, I wanted to thank Paul for an amazing website as it has saved me a lot of money over the years and in particular this last week when I picked up the deals for Toy and BLA Bowie on CD this last week. SDE has been and always will be greatly appreciated. Waiting patiently now for the prices to drop on the Vinyl versions of Toy and BLA, before the stock runs out lol. Not sure that the BLA will drop too much though, maybe lower runs on box 5. Seems to selling out in some places.
Cheers John! Welcome…
Marillion’s Fugazi 4 LP box currently $35 @ Amazon US. Not familiar with the work, but it’s highly regarded in the customer reviews and by SDE readers judging by the response after Paul covered the release last summer. Cheers.
I have no interest whatsoever in the Def Leppard box, but that price is nuts! Holy moly, Batman!
It is a really good box set IMHO, I love the cover versions
I picked up the Prince box the first ludicrous offer that showed up. It doesn’t offer a *lot* more than the individual CD or LP, but the concert video is excellent, and the whole package has the solid (both literally and figuratively) design that I’ve come to expect from the Prince Estate.
Looks like the Let It Be deal is gone? Or maybe just not available for USians. Oh well! I’ll enjoy my cheap Sell Out and Toy Box, and wait for the Let It Be price to drop in the US!
The Prince Welcome To America box set -frequently mentioned here- is now at the lowest price I have seen (on Amazon.com): $38.
https://amzn.to/3v1ZM1w
I got it some time last year for the absurd price of $29 (it was on popMarket) and I told a friend almost immediately about it and they were already gone. I think that some places overordered this set and thought it would sell better, so they had sales to get rid of their stock. I imagine Amazon ordered many more and may be doing the same
I paid $41.88 2 days ago – agree that’s the lowest I’ve seen yet. I’m off now to request my $3.88 credit…not really.
Thanks for this! Grabbed it – 3 hours later, but still.
Thnx a lot for mentioning this. With VAT & fees it was in total 55Eur which i think is vrry very reasonable for this great box!
“Beautiful Garbage” white vinyl for 16 GBP on Amazon.uk:
https://amzn.to/3H6l6Fj
Especially interesting is the included Auto-Rip with 64 tracks!!
Well, it’s up to £28.59 now, but also Amazon UK doesn’t give the US their auto-rips
Cheers for the heads up, got it for £16.50. Amazon’s yo yo pricing continues.
£77 for 6 partially filled Beatles discs or £69 for 11 Bowie CDs? I think Apple has misjudged this box pricing quite poorly.
You don’t get a massive book with the Bowie box set. And also The Beatles box has WAY more unreleased material, even if the discs aren’t full.
I know which I’d pick, but already have it and it wouldn’t be anything by a 2nd rate Anthony Newley impersonator.
The Bowie ‘Width Of A circle’ double CD deal is over and back to £18.49 this morning.
I did see a few ‘in’ hmv for the £13 price, so it’s worth a look in.
Just taken the plunge on Teaser and the firecat super deluxe cd from momox uk on amazon £54 inc postage. Think there was one left at 07.15 am ! Fingers crossed
anyone else used Momox uk ?
Yes. About 7 or 8 times. Mixed. They once sent me a Dylan CD that was snapped completely in half, and I’ve had one parcel not show up (they claimed that I hadn’t given my address, which was obviously impossible).
I have a suspicion that they get cheap “battered” stock from a warehouse or something because stuff that turns up often looks like it’s been crushed.
BUT half the stuff I’ve got has turned up fine (I got the Metallica S&M2 CD off them this week for £8). I generally avoid the box sets from them (due to that first missing parcel, which happened to be a box set) but there’s every chance it’ll be fine for you.
Their customer service is also fine – they refund without issue and really quickly too.
Thanks for the info .
I’ve had 1 item from them, took a while – the other item I ordered never turned up. They’re ok – maybe worth a shot at £54.
I used Momox uk once – through Ebay. Item was supossed to be new but was obviously secondhand. No customer services response. EBay refunded in the end. Momox uk currently have 74% bad rating on Trustpilot. Fingers crossed for your order.
I ordered from Momox in Germany (parent company) many times successfully from Amazon, but the UK version seems problematic.
I’ve used them a few times, and never been suspicious that the item wasn’t described correctly, although one record I bought was sealed, but the cover wasn’t in great condition – the price reflected that though, so no complaints. Orders usually take quite a while to arrive though.
Wouldn’t use any of these companies. Customer service for one thing is appalling, if anything goes wrong. At least with Amazon, after a few tries, you get a resolution.
Horrendous company, picked up a boxset off them before Christmas, good price for what it was but still expensive, it arrived water damaged. Returned it to their UK depot as instructed, still waiting for the refund. They won’t refund me until they have received it back at their Germany depot?
Avoid!! Avoid!! Avoid!!
I’m German and buy from them regularly.
What you should know is that they buy items from people and companies, usually used, but also with the possibility to get some items that are still sealed / shrinkwrapped.
Customer service in Germany is alright.
If the item you got don’t meet your expectations you can send it back and get a refund or keep it and get either a credit or a complete refund depending on the price of the item.
As they’re dealing with used stock they’re not offering to send a faulty item back and got sent another one though.
You’d have to look on their website if the item is still available and have to order it anew.
Hi, I tried to buy the Billy Joel volume 1 vinyl set from PopMarket but at the checkout it says it cannot ship to UK as the package is “too heavy’. Am I missing a trick here as it seems others have not had an issue with shipping?
Got the same message for delivery to Ireland Nev.
This is standard for this group of companies – including Deep Discount, Import CDs etc. If it is above a certain weight, they won’t entertain shipping outside US
Thank God the Who deal is over – I do not care much for the album (and “A Quick One”) but at this price I was tempted because of the fantastic packaging. However – I am running out of space…..
Thanks Paul! Rarely do the bargains apply to me in the US, but I’m grabbing that Replacements box, and maybe the Who as well!
The Beatles – Let It Be super deluxe is £66 on Amazon FR (£72 incl delivery).
Think the price jumped shortly after I posted BUT it’s down to £76 on Amazon UK now.
George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass Super Deluxe 5CD + Blu-Ray box set is $109 on AMZ US (27% off $150 retail price).
Thanks for the tip Paul.
Fortunately I was at my desk when you sent out the E-mail about the Who Sell Out. I was one of the lucky ones who got it fo $59 +tax. It’s back up to $100 now.
I sadly, was not. :(
just a curious question. received this notice (the who usa) less than an hour ago and seems others have said they got this less than thirty minutes ago though when i click through the deal is gone. has happened many times before. any help would be appreciated.
Yes, you have to be quick sometimes. I think it lasted about 15 or 20 minutes.
The SDE email alert usually causes an immediate rush of orders, then stock quickly runs out and/or the price goes up. Be quick or miss out … or find the bargains before Paul finds out and sends an email! [The Who Sell Out box was at this $59 price for something like 18 hours before the SDE email alert – and had been around $61-$63 for the previous week.]
The Who deal was on for 2 days at least. It was reduced gradually from $75 down to $59. Maybe they were matching Walmart and Target – Let It Be 50 is $97 which matches Target and Walmart.
I was referring to the time between the SDE deal alert and when the deal was over.
Yep, I know, just some insight how long it was actually going on @ amazon.
Yep, fair enough :)
The Nick Cave 7LP ‘B-Sides & Rarities’ set now down to £99 on Amazon UK
The Who Sell Out, sold out. must have just missed it.
Billy Joel’s The Vinyl Collection, Vol. 1 is only $73 with free US shipping at Popmarket.com…Its a 9 disc vinyl & book set and is still $165+ at most outlets, originally $250! I’ve found some great deals there and have never had an issue with delivery.
Thanks for the tip @britbandfan. That’s a great deal. You can get an additional 10% off if you set up a new account on the site. I haven’t ordered from their website but have ordered many times from them via Discogs. Believe its tied to the same company that runs importcds.com, the FYE retail chain, deep discount.com, the musique_pour_vous, get import cds, deep discount ebay users etc. All shipping out of the same warehouse in KY.
The Def Leppard Volume 3 VINYL box was just scooped up for $62.50 from Amazon.com US. That’s a steal
Nice!
Whoa!
Picked up The Who immediately!
Again, many thanks!
Cheers!
I had to get The Who super deluxe at that price. Such a good record. You have made me a audiophile now. Could you recommend a high quality CD player?
Thank Paul
Karl
Depending on the budget, audition the Marantz higher end models SAKI Ruby or Cyrus CDi, both superb….
thank you Earwig
I had just bought the 2 CD set a few weeks ago before this went on sale. Still may grab it.
