    1. Great value. These box sets are numbered. I’ve bought two from Amazon. One was numbered around 30,000 but the second was numbered around 110,000. If they have genuinely made – at least – 110,000 of these, then I suspect this one is going to be cheap for some time ….

  1. Plastic Ono band is dropping in 50p increments (super deluxe 6cd+2Blu-ray) on Amazon.co.uk…..it is in the £68 region at the moment but is sure to bounce back up again to the toppermost of the poppermost of all prices again, mother.

  2. I just noticed on Amazon US – The Replacements’ Sorry Ma I Forgot To Take Out The Trash 4CD/1LP is $44.70 right now. It had been hovering around $53 the last few months, and full price was $79.98.

  3. Decent week for non-Amazon deals – eBay have a 20% off deal running today and tomorrow. Not a massive amount to shout about but some of the usual suspects in there if you’re interested (£20 minimum spend to trigger the deal)

Cat Stevens Mona Bone Jakon super deluxe box is £58
Ronnie Lane CD box set is £57
GNR Appetite For Destruction super deluxe is £38
Matt Berry Gather Up CD box is £21
Prince Sign O The Times super deluxe CD set is £72
Caravan Decca/Deram Years box is £57

Quite a few recent-ish vinyl releases in there too by the look of it.

MusicMagpie is the the offering all the above, so you’ll need to seek out their eBay store (can’t post the link) and filter down to the right category and to get rid of the Used items.

    1. I bought the Goats Head Soup deluxe from them last week when it was £28. There was also a deal on via a click-through site for an extra 5% off so ended up getting it for £26.60 with free shipping. Arrived in perfect condition & really well packed – better than amazon’s current ‘ just stick a label on it / ship it in a paper bag’ policy.

  4. recordstore.co.uk have just announced a ‘Limited with Bonus Tracks’ signed CD version of the forthcoming xPropoganda ‘The Heart Is Strange’. “Signed by the band and producer Stephen Lipson, this version will include the bonus tracks of the radio edits for ‘Don’t (You Mess With Me)’, ‘Beauty Is Truth’ and ‘Only Human’ plus Stephen Lipson’s extended 12″ version of ‘Only Human’. This super-limited CD will be the only place these bonus edits will be available and the album will come with brand new artwork.” Available at:

  5. Paul, not the complaining type here but please, when I sent deals half the time they only get published after sending it twice or three times. Frustrating.
Amazon France Tina Turner Foreign Affair on sale for 20 Euros.

Also, the white vinyl of Older is available again on Amazon UK. Not sure if it is cancelations or additional stock. Very weird, no info on volume of white, red or green releases. I also picked up a red vinyl from the GM store today. It just showed available and grabbed it. Later today I checked again and it showed sold out again. But the white is still available on Amazon UK. Here is the link.

    1. Thank you for posting this.

I went into HMV this morning and came out with Crowded House’s Dreamers Are Waiting LP for £7.99, Godley and Cream Consequences cds for £11.99, Brian Wilson’s At My Piano for £3.99 and the Absolute Beginners soundtrack for £3.99. My only issue was it took them three times to charge me the right price, and only because I pointed out they had the wrong total twice.

    2. Price long gone I’m afraid, would’ve been in it for that price even though the reviews of it are disappointing. Oh well won’t lose any sleep over it. Well done those that got on it

  6. Re HMV Flash sale – this is happening instore too. Essentially the same stock titles but with some weird pricing. For example – Elton John Jewel 5CD box is £39.99 online – it’s £46.99 instore. U2 box is £49.99 online – it’s £56.99 instore. However, Tears for Fears Sowing Box is £32.50 online but £27.50 instore. Most prices seem to be more expensive instore

    1. Fopp have the same “similar” pricing thing going on in-store (things that are £3.50 online are £4 in Fopp). Looks like a massive stock clearance or something. Some of the prices are really, really cheap.

        1. I’m aware, more a comment on the slightly odd price differences between in-store and online considering it’s the same company. I could buy a CD online for £3.50 and choose click and collect at a store that’s selling it for £4.

          1. Not that odd – online stores often offer different prices to their own physical stores. I’ve often bought books online from Waterstones/Blackwells/Foyles because they’re much cheaper than purchasing in one of their stores. In some cases I paid 50% less for click & collect & walked past piles of the same books at full price in-store when i was collecting the orders.
Often a company’s online store is set up as a separate entity to their physical stores so has a different cost structure as the online store has fewer costs re stores/rents/wages/heating/electricity usage etc. Click & collect is also subsidised as a means of increasing footfall into stores in the hope that when online buyers are there they may make an additional purchase.

    1. Sounds stupid but try a different browser and make sure you’re not blocking cookies. It’s a slightly flakey site and I’ve had loads of issues on there in the past.

  7. Handful of small price drops on Amazon UK

Dodgy: The A&M Years (Exclusive Signed Edition) – 8CD box is c£10 off, down to £46 PLUS the 4LP coloured vinyl box is £12 off, down to £62

    Bob Mould – Distortion: The Best Of 1989-2019 4CD – £20

Caught Beneath The Landslide (Signed Amazon Exclusive) 4CD – £19 (not as cheap as when it was £16 a few weeks ago, tbf)

Neil Young Archives II – back down to £79

Heavenly Remixes vol 3&4 (the Andrew Weatherall set) 2CD – down to £8.99

  8. The Bob Dylan Bootleg 12 (Cutting Edge 1965-66) 6CD super deluxe is down to £70 on Amazon UK. Not a bad price if you’re delving very deep into earlyish Dylan (one of the CDs is simply 20 versions of Like A Rolling Stone, so perhaps not one for the casual listener).

  9. The Zombies’ In The Beginning 5 x Coloured Vinyl LP Box Set is £59.99 in the Amazon UK Spring Sale at the moment (don’t rush there thinking there are loads of titles available and bargains ahoy, this is one of only three items in the sale).

    1. Took the plunge thank you. I find Demon pressings to be very hit (Everly Brothers) and miss (swathes of the Suede catalogue). Hoping this is one of their better efforts

  10. The Archives II boxset is amazing. It’s truly essential if you have the money.
The Nick Cave boxset is really appealing… I only have the CDs. The b-sides are as interesting as his main songs. And the unreleased material on the volume 2 is also very good.

  11. Grabbed Cat Stevens “Tea for the Tillerman” superdeluxe 5cds+2Lp+bluray for just an amazing 34,99$ deal from a third-party seller (Quality CD&DVD, now selling it for 101,36$) but fullfilled and sent by Amazon (51,82€ shipped home with VAT included).

Also “The Band Cahoots” superdeluxe edition 2cds+lp+7″single+bluray for 71,62$ sold by Amazon, home for 79,1€ all included. DEAL, if you consider it as such, STILL ON!
Cheers and thanks a lot for your good work.
