  1. Amazon USA have some great prices for Neil Young vinyl at the moment. The Roxy Tonight’s the Night Live album is $14.41, Monsanto Years $13.74 and Harvest Moon $13.35. Some are restricted to Prime members which is get roundable!

  2. Rip off Britain. Then.
These prices are brilliant. I refresh my SDE page every hour.
Some deals last minutes, one has to be fast.
Nevermind the duty rants, if you spend enough you’ll save a fortune.

Thank you Paul. A great service you provide.
I struggle to believe people are complaining about a free service you provide..

Ive saved hundreds of £s owing to SDE

  3. I would buy the Midnight Oil Full Tank for that price but not this one with all those concert & documentary DVD’s. Is only for the Uber fans.

  4. No way that Eno deal will come through, imo.

SHM CD’s, for the record, are a scam – nothing more. And yes, I have many of them. They’re standard CD’s basically, but they want to make out the light passes through the polymer more efficiently. Pure snake oil. And yes, they work on standard CD players – because, you know, they ARE standard CD’s.

  5. Two for the Aussies…on Amazon au
    1) Fleetwood Mac – Fleetwood Mac (3CD + LP + DVD) currently $21.99 (£12.50). Ordered and already received in 2 days. Normally around $120 in stores.
    2) Monty Python – Live (Mostly) One Down Five To Go (Deluxe Edition) (DVD + BD + 2CD + Book) currently $5 (yes less than £3) Ordered and waiting fingers crossed. Normally $70-80.

    1. So stop feckin’ moanin’ and remember you’re only living down under ‘cos your ancestors were criminals!!!!!

Of course all the above is tongue in cheek. I do sympathise over (is it?) the 10% import tax. The thing is we could be in for a 20% hike in import charges in the U.K. on anything over £15 once Braxit kicks in thanks to the racist clowns who voted for it!

  6. The price of Pulse was originally unreasonably overstated

Just like the box set The Early Years

Green vinyl Roger Waters seems to have been released in large quantities, also black vinyl is not sold until now

  7. I posted a deal about the Undertones on july 31 at 15:02 and the comment is still awaiting moderation. I guess it was missed and forgotten so I will mention it again as the deal’s still on :

The Undertones box set is at £31.56 on Amazon UK. I bought it on RSD for £55 !
It contains 13 singles so an average price of £2.5 for each 7″ ! It’s a great bargain and a lovely box set.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Singles-7-VINYL-Undertones/dp/B07B62QPK5/ref=sr_1_3?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1533045385&sr=1-3

  8. Today, as of saturday 4th of August 2018, i just ordered the Eno set on Amazon canada, at the low price….pretty sure they will not deliver it.

  9. Here’s a deal alert for all the moaning Aussies about Amazon’s global block (and I am one of the biggest moaners). Led Zep The song Remains the Same super deluxe is currently on pre order at $160 which is half the price of UK and about $100 less than the US. If you want it, suggest you pre order quickly. Me, I’ll stay with Deep Purple Made in Japan

    1. Thanks Roel, ordered.

Yes, although few and far between (and from a substantially smaller range than US or European stores), there are the occasional gems to be found buried in the Amazon AU site – Procol Harum’s ‘Still There’ll Be More’ and Dylan’ ‘Trouble No More’ box sets have both been available at very substantial reductions recently (both of which I took advantage of… although I suspect the bargains were due more to mis-pricing than legitimate discount…)

      1. Agree Dave. I picked up Procol as well for $29.99, Tusk Super Deluxe for $14.99 (really!!) even though it seems to be out of print everywhere else. It seems like they have dumped all the surplus Mac box sets onto Amazon AU. Rumours super deluxe is currently $29.99 as well so we have had all the Deluxe Mac box sets at bargain prices except Mirage.
A couple more if you’re interested. Elton John Diamonds 3CD deluxe is $21.99, Gary Moore Blues & Beyond $19.99 & Andrew Lloyd Webber’s recent 4CD set $14.99

  10. The Eno deal is still available even now. I’m beginning to doubt if it will actually happen – can they really have that many copies of a Japanese import Brian Eno box set actually available for that price?

  11. I ordered and it came to £22.46.will I have to pay more when it arrives?.when I buy on amazon usa and they deliver to uk you pay for everything in the checkout.I’ve never been charged again for anything?

    1. You will be hit by customs fees if you actually get this as it costs more than £15 and i should know because it’s happened to me quite a few times. I seriously doubt this will be honoured at this price and expect a cancellation email anytime.

    2. I’m not certain but if you order from within the EU (you’re in Britain, aren’t you?) the price might get it to you without further costs because it is below the customs threshold.

    1. SHM’s play on normal CD players. SHM stands for Super High Material they are only pressed on Japan. They are supposed to have better sound quality than normal CD’s and have a longer shelf life. But…..and it’s a BIG BUT … The sound quality isn’t always better and sometimes worse it all depends who did the mastering and pressing. The best 2 SHM pressings I’ve ever gotten are Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones and Who’s Next by The Who but they are SHM/SACD and are quite expensive, out of print and con only be found in aftermarket sales, usually in used but MINT condition. Hope this helps

    1. there shouldn’t be customs charges – in the uk at least – the price of the item is about £12-£13 before shipping costs, which is below the threshold – which is either £15 or £18, can’t remember which.

          1. but then when the country falls into apocalyptic levels of poverty, we’re being told will definitely happen – we’ll have 0% VAT to encourage some much needed spending – so the limit will become meaningless. . . . then bring on the quality japanese imports! although you can’t eat music – so maybe we’ll all be dead before that happens. does make you wonder what all those “british farmed” stickers are that the supermarkets like to slap on things means, though.

  12. Theo’s deal is crazy. I ordered it yesterday already. Takes a month to deliver it said. Must have been a typo. 21 Canadian Dollars should probably have been 221. Don’t get upset if this doesn’t get honored guys.

    1. The funny thing is that i was following this listing for awhile, i pulled the trigger at 27 dollars, a few weeks ago, it’s fluctuated like any other listing. I didn’t post here until i received mine, to make sure it wasn’t fool’s gold. Now, with so many orders, who knows, but it did work for me.
      @Klaus, I’m in Canada.

      1. Thanks Theo. Now i’m waiting for the first one posting from outside of Canada who actually received it at that price.
But even if this won’t get through it was good to visit the canadian Amazon-site because i came to notice that there is a new Holly Cole-album out only in Canada it seems and i found a third party seller where i could order it for a really good price.
Also i found a copy of Stephan Eicher’s much sought after “Eldorado Trio Live”-album for a not cheap, but reasonable price and though it was offered as “Used-Very Good” the receipt i got for it states it as “New” so i’m hoping it might even be still shrink-wrapped.

  13. THEO – you are my hero.

Brian Eno – Music for Installations SHM-CD Japan version $22 CAD. Ordered this immediately and, yes, it looks like the order was accepted. This deal is nuts. 6 CD’s SHM-CD. With 2 bonus tracks. Crazy! An Eno Japanese box set for about $20 US? BONKERS!

    1. Problem with this kind of deals normally is that they could still say it’s not available anymore.
But i agree that it’s certainly worth trying.
Just don’t be too diasappointed if it doesn’t work out.

    2. Ordered the Eno 6cd but wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon cancels the order like they did when they mistakenly sold the Queen Live at the Odeon for about £ 13 two years ago.

  14. £4.34 would be giving it away really…….even with postage costs to my country added……

Ahhhh…..I wish I could be just one click away when the next one of those typos occurs…..preferably when it comes to some of my favorites…..

Peter Murphy box set next please……:)

    1. Thanks Theo, i just gave it a try too, though shipping and handling to Germany were almost as high as the item price ( ;-)) ) bringing this to an amazing EUR 24 in total.

      1. Glad to hear that so many of you jumped on this – I neglected to point out that I received mine, so fret not. Hopefully you all get yours as well. I haven’t cracked it open, but the text on the back is all Japanese. But if previous Japanese cds are anything to go by, odds are the booklet will also be in English.

    2. So it took Amazon.ca until Sept 7th to cancel my order placed on Jul 31st @ 23:48 BST

“We’re unable to fulfill your order for the item listed above because it is no longer for sale on Amazon. As a result, we’ve cancelled it from your order and your original payment method won’t be charged.”

Hopefully some other SDE readers were able to get copies

  15. Wondering about cancelling my Nazareth order from the Nazareth store and ordering from Amazon instead. Just a bit nervous that Amazon may not be able to deliver, having been let down a couple of times recently.

  16. How many times do I have to buy Nazareth? This has to be the last! Can’t argue with the price. Tempted at £150 with £109 sealing the deal. I had them all originally (up to mid eighties) on LP (which I sadly sold) , cassette’s, original cd’s, remastered cd’s with extra tracks, remastered cd’s with extra extra tracks etc etc etc. I even started buying the reissue LP’s again!
Great band, and the collector in me, has emptied my wallet. Looks great though.

    1. Hi Peter, the only Nazareth album I have ever owned was an LP `Greatest Hits` which long ago disappeared. It had the hits; `This Flight Tonight`, White Bicycle, `Love Hurts`….., but what about their later albums after `Hair Of The Dog`. I remember them for their driving and often melodic rock. How good were their later albums? 25 albums is some discography. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Stan Butler below has enlightened me a little and the chances of me buying this set is now over 50%.

  17. Hm… I could buy about 8 of those Nazareth boxes for the price of one GnR Locked N’Loaded set! That’s 328 discs!

I think if I live to be 100, I’ll forever compare EVERY box-set price to the GnR one, lol!

      1. It’s, at present, the best selling item in the vinyl section on Amazon, so I guess Nazareth must have more fans than some might think. Even outselling Bowie on pre-orders. Great band, who I only discovered a few years ago. Became hooked and bought all the Salvo reissues and more compilations than I needed. Some really great albums and also brilliant BBC live sessions. The session on Rampant is a particular favourite. If you like a bit of gritty melodic hard rock, you won’t go wrong with Nazareth.

    1. Very tempted by the Verve set as that’s a great price, not convinced that it would be the super deluxe they would send out though – seems a bit TOO cheap and product details are non-existent on the listing other than the EAN number.

  18. Blimey! That Nazareth box is a behemoth of a set and I thought about it at £150 but at this price it really is a no brainier. Cheers Paul!

  19. Hi Paul many thanks for another Great Deal. It was a Bargain at £150 but this is a no brainer. With the Extras there is nearly 50 items in the box making it just over £2 each. Unbelievable.

  20. I bought this first from the Nazarethshop with the signed card for 198 euros.
Now with this deal I have it for 125 euros without signed card.
The difference of 73 euros is too much for only the signed card.
Sorry nazarethshop but for that money I can buy me another boxset.

  21. Big thanks for this notification, Paul. Cancelled my pre-order from the official Nazareth store, which was £160 incl. P & P. Probably won’t get the signed photo, but after saving over £50, I think I can live with that.

  22. What’s the story with amazon pre-orders, please someone? I pre-ordered the Trojan box a few weeks ago at £84.22. Is that the price I will pay, as it is showing £119.99 on their site.

        1. It`s always wise to pre-order an item you`re interested in.

A guy over at the Steve Hoffman blog pre-ordered the Rolling Stones LP Box Set even though the price was around $400. The price dropped to something like $175 before release. Under Amazon`s price guarantee that`s the price he payed, a real bargain! Since I read about that I have ordered ALL the items I`m interested in (many) and if I don`t like the price I cancel a couple of days pre-release.

          1. I picked up Porcupine Tree’s In Absentia on DVD Audio years ago for 97 cents [!!!] after Amazon goofed on the price. Had nothing else to buy. End up paying about $5 to ship it. :-)
But Amazon kept the price [then].

  23. Just ordered the Nazareth set but it was up to £110. 95% chance I’ll cancel it but it’s a toss up between Nazareth & Bowie box No. 4, which isn’t great content.

Also ordered the Trojan box because 1) It’s a great price and I love this stuff, 2) A mate keeps harping on about it so this will shut the senile cretin up!

  24. Just ordered the Nazareth box set and absolute steal at that price. First band I ever saw at Ashton Hall, Lancaster on 1st May 1973! Still have the ticket and it cost me the veritable sum of 66P…..halcyon days!! Cheers Paul

  25. Faith And Grace: A Family Journey 1953-1976 Box set, Limited Edition is under £23 on Amazon at the moment.

Four CDs plus one 7” single housed in a hardback book with liner notes and credits.

    Recently discounted from £35.

      1. Yes, I figured £4 odds was worth a back up for old cassettes and vinyl. I see it’s over 20 again now.

The request above to save money may well be someone’s else’s opinion but I figured it worth a punt at that price.

      2. I think it was a typo – it was £4.34 and, at that time, their nearest competitor was £14.34. It let me order, let’s see if my order is honoured or cancelled.
