got my fela kuti set from amazon.it today
it’s nice and semi compact. the only issue I have is that the albums aren’t in chronological order

Tony

I ordered a black vinyl copy of Tin Machine 2 on Saturday for £16, I got a silver copy from SDE for my bruv, but wanted a copy for myself. Got home tonight & they sent a silver copy, right result, might be worth a chance if any of you missed it.

Peter

Bryan Ferry set arrived today. Very nice. Mine was number 1619, what was yours ?!

Keith Slatter

Bryan Ferry set arrived today…a present for my brother…and unless I’m being completely thick….I’ve got neither a number or any identifying barcodes on the box? Any clues…anyone?

Keith Slatter

Cheers Paul! So not as thick as my wife believes…as it’s a present for my brother I hadn’t opened the box! Doh!

Ken

Mine was 300 and something – I’m at work so cant exactly recall.

Seems like they were sent out randomly and not in any numerical order.

Darren Gardner

Pretty pleased as I got quite a low number 0198!

Dickie

It seems to with if you’re outside the UK!

SimonP2

Ellie Goulding brand new CD – SIGNED Amazon exclusive only £7.99 on Amazon this morning for those that like that kind of thing….

Michael Kelly

Whats happening with Depeche Mode violator 12 box.
Cant get it anywhere.

Richard S

I wondered why it was no longer on Amazon, but luckily I’d pre-ordered mine. Maybe people jumping on it after what happened with the “Mode” box set? I always thought this one would be the most popular, hence the pre-ordering.

Björn

Paul, now €93.99.

Cornelius

My Bryan box has arrived today. Great item. Thanks for the deal Paul.

Alan M

Great price for The Police, especially considering the half speed mastering. Bit of a marmite band i guess but personally i think they were great despite not getting into them until about ’88 (teenage thing where you start to dig old bands).

Any other guitarists/musicians here that find themselves listening to bands that are out of their usual “genre circle” due to a certain player within that band? Andy Summers, John Squire, Johnny Marr for example, all got me listening to their respective bands due to being such interesting guitarists.

Christian

Thank you for this alert, Paul! Helped me get a nice birthday gift for my friend/fan whose birthday is in August.

Darren Gardner

As a Roxy/Ferry fan had to get this. I baulked at £120 but for £60 well worth parting with my pennies! Noticed price has edged up to £80 now.

Cornelius

The Bryan box is £80 now. Creeping upwards!

Kauwgompie

I’ll try this again as my previous post was overlooked. Here a few Tix bits for Prince fans:

1. The Purple Rain Superdeluxe is available again on Amazon.uk for a regular £27. Probably some additional stock they found in the back of the warehouse so be quick. It is still sold out everywhere else.
https://amzn.to/3h2kF2u

2. The massive 1999 vinyl box is available on Amazon.com for a regular $210. Probably also some disgarded stock they found somewhere as this is still sold out everywhere. The CD box is not available anywhere for a normal price.
https://amzn.to/2Wok5UH

3. Prince One Nite Alone Superdeluxe is on the verge of being sold out just a few weeks after it’s release. It is now only available from Amazon USA, France and Netherlands (Amazon.nl). Everywhere else it shows sold out. So be quick before you pay outrageous amounts.

Rob Koning

Nice, thanks. I ordered it from Amazon Germany for just under 22 euro’s (no shipping costs for prime members).

Mike M

Purple Rain Expanded Edition popping up everywhere now.

Marcel

Snagged Purple Rain expanded for € 23 at Amazon.nl

Harcourt Fenton Mudd

Prince 19o9 . . . .

I made a rare venture into the “outside” today with the specific aim of seeing if the Uxbridge hmv had the 5cd/dvd prince 1999 deluxe set…..

….and they did have 1 on the shelf. It had no price sticker on it. That did not matter: I was buying it.

I also got 2 for £30 vinyl records too…… 2 Peter Gabriel German albums.

Price of the 19o9 set….£75. I told the cashier they could have put any price they wanted on it….as it is as rare as he s teeth nowadays, it seems.

Still a few sets out there!

Mark

There are ‘used – good’ copies of Sigur Ros’s 20th anniversary 4CD edition of “Ágætis byrjun” on amazon.uk marketplace for £9.99. I ordered one yesterday and its arrived new and sealed. Still some left so worth a try if you’re interested, normally £24.

https://amzn.to/3h1ibBd

oskar

Thanks Mark!
I buy the last!

Alan

Many thanks Mark, snapped it up. A bargain. And looking forward to it!

Matt

Thanks. Just picked up a copy for myself.

Matt

My copy arrived today. It was indeed new and sealed. Thanks for the heads up Mark.

Alan

Mine arrived too, sealed and in good nick, cheers Mark. I see the price has now increased to over £20.

Oskar

Arrived today and new! Thanks Mark! Great !!

Stuart S

Thanks Mark. Been in my basket since release but arrived yesterday, new and sealed. Nice one!

Cornelius

The Bryan box is £70 now on his site, and Townsend Music.

SimonP2

Thanks Paul – got one at £60. Incidentally – although the 24 hour £60 deal is over. There’s a new deal appeared for £70. Still a good deal if you didn’t commit yesterday.

Beechlander

Ferry box now £70 with no expiry date. Cheeky! Still an excellent deal.

SimonP2

Your wish has come true – now £80

Matt

It’s up to £80 now!

Steve White

Just picked up the Prince 1999 CD box set from HMV in Colchester. Still had at least one behind the counter as well. £59.99 so same price as at release. I counted four copies of The Hurting box set as well.

drbryant

Very close to pulling the trigger on this. However, I previously purchased the vinyl and signed poster (very nice, mailed flat) for 38 GBP when it came out. If there were just some additional audio, it would be so much more attractive to me. . . .

Furniture Music

Thanks as always Paul. I grabbed one as the price was finally right for me.

graeme ewan

If its signed by Mr Ferry AND half price, how many has he signed if its half price? Any mention of numbers? Dont worry folks, not a huge fan so wont buy it, would rather free up a copy for a true fan.

graeme ewan

cheers for the reply Paul. Now get buying you Ferry fans!! chop chop.

Brian Fairy

I think you got the 1251st print he signed. His hand was getting a bit tired after number 100 and by number 1000, the signature started to become more of a squiggle. After all he is 74 years old. The gold pen on a b/w photo is a nice touch.

I’ve seen worst signatures though, as much as it is a nice memento having a signed album, it can be a bit of a lottery whether the signature looks decent or not. I have some squiggles, just initials and the nice ones are the full names which is rare.

MrSka57

The signatures on my Small Faces ‘Here Comes The Nice’ certificate are exemplary.

Kauwgompie

That’s 500 more than Donna Summer’s box that was equally priced but has 33 CD’s!

Arkadin

YOu should see the so called signature on Unkle CDs! LIke going back to 19th century – put your name or make your mark. Lavelle goes with a vague cross.

Darren Linklater

Bryan Ferry was very pricey and I passed but at £60 its a steal.

Thanks for all the unboxing videos Paul. It really does help in deciding where to spend your money.

Bridge

I previously purchased the LP with signed poster, but this deal with the really cool signed photo was worth buying it again in this format!

Lucien

So cool…ordered !

Candy-O (Expanded Edition) (2LP 180 Gram Vinyl) now $13.02USD @Amazon.com
https://amzn.to/2Wi6ka9

David B

Bryan Ferry is for 24 hours only people! Get a move on if you want it!!

Steven_Wilsons_Prog_Cat

I was procrastinating about this all day, that price is just too darn good, tried to resist, went to the dentist for an emergency appointment, felt sorry for myself when I got out, clicked on the link and bought it, it really is a classy set

Cornelius

Your day sounds similar to mine. I was eating a slice of jam on toast earlier when one of my teeth came out. Throughout much of the day i’ve been considering whether or not to buy the boxset, and finally decided on a “yes.” It’s going to look very expensive tomorrow when the price goes back up.

TIMOTHY LEACH

Thanks for the heads-up Paul – just ordered. Fabulous print!

Klaus

I received the SFAJT-box by Marillion bought at the recent SDE-alert from Amazon.uk for 22 GBP & shipping today, so it seems they either printed some more or had (have?) stock somewhere that wasn’t shipped due to Covid-19.
What bothers me is that amazon debited my card right after the purchase (not when they shipped it). I thought they had stopped with that nonsense?

Peter

Lovely set. Bought !

Jonathan

I bought the signed poster edition of this due to price, but after watching your unboxing video of the special edition I wished I’d bought the box. Nice now then to be able to pick this up at half price which is a bargain. Thanks Paul.

Kauwgompie

Shipping to the US is $29 so I was on the fence but fine, I pulled the trigger. We won’t see this box on Amazon (for much cheaper on a deal alert) and it seems truly limited so ok. But still pricey at half the cost.

Derek Langsford

I “chatted” with an Amazon UK Service person and communicated with a supervisor as well who said the shipping prices for international delivery from Amazon UK are because of COVID-19 and they should get back to normal after it gets back to normal; however, that may not take into account changes in the UPU agreements that occurred recently due to Trump try to undermine Jeff Bezos.

While the price per item comes down if you bundle multiple items, the shipping is still much higher, so I am holding off buying anything until we know if prices will come down. That will be unless a few key potentially limited boxed sets come out (e.g. TFF – TSoL, Beatles – LiB).

Björn

I thought it was a little pricy at 140€.
82€ including postage to Germany sound very fair, so I made up my choice.
Thanks again, Paul. I’m glad that I check your site quite often.

Ian Hicks

Cheers Paul… had to bite at the price

Douglas Deacy

A bit harsh for fans who bought it at the full price.

Ben Williams

Same could be said of any item purchased at release-date brand new and then discounted in the future.

Catweazle

Yes, but sometimes waiting for a price drop isn’t an option – your desired item might be sold out sooner than expected…

Douglas Deacy

You don’t expect to see an autographed Deluxe Box Set at half price. Most autographed stuff you see on other sites seems to sell out quickly. Liam Gallaghers recent release being the case.

Ian Hartley

A beautiful box set with a genuine autograph to boot ! Thanks Paul- was tempted when this was full price but now I have just “saved” £60 I wonder what I should spend the rest on ?

PETER REEVES

Cheers Paul super value

JimC

Re the Ian Dury set – the amazon.co.uk page says “7 New from £24.87” but when you click on it the cheapest is £46.26!

Steve Burn

$106.49 to the U.S. A fence-sitting decision.

Kauwgompie

Steve, agreed. I am in the same boat but did pull the trigger for 3 reasons:

1. The Bryan Ferry store is not a high volume shop like Amazon so they won’t have a high volume shipping discount like Amazon. In other words, shipping would have been pricey no matter what.

2. Even with the shipping it is still considerably cheaper than before the deal alert

3. This seems truly limited, it is not available on Amazon and it is signed. It keeps its value.

Electric Sydney

Thank you for helping to push the “purchase” button!
Despite the higher shipping rate it still kind of seems like a decision I won’t regret.

Martin

Fancies this so a bargain thanks Paul

Mike M

Superb price Paul, snapped it up at that price. Thanks once again pal

Paul

Finally managed to order the police vinyl box set for £79.99 from hmv. Only took me about 20 attempts and a few months setting up email notifications for whenever it is back in stock!

Matt

Thanks! I got the recent £9.99 deal for the set on CD. I really wanted the it on vinyl though, but didn’t want to pay over £100. At £80 it’s a no brainer for me.

Tony

The Police box set on Amazon.uk for £79.99 now

Melvin Lead

Thanks for the heads up, order placed.

The Expat Geordie

Very sorely tempted bu $29 shipping to the USA killed the temptation.

John Ireland

A bargain at this price. Snapped up immediately

Dickie

Thanks mate. I was tempted by this before but at this price a no brainer!

Dave

Ian Dury new boots and panties 40th anniversary edition £25 Amazon has it been cheaper?

Mark G

Not seeing the Dury deal..

PJ

£45 now. Short-lived if £25!!

Peter Smith

I wonder how I would have felt if I had bought this upon release date as most die-hard fans would likely have done….
