10cc / Classic Albums box set

If the forthcoming Tenology box set is more 10cc than you require, then this Classic Album Selection box set might be of interest. It collects five albums from the period 1975-1978, although there are six discs here due to the live album Live and Let Live taking up two CDs.

10cc Classic Album Selection: Five Albums is out on 19 November 2012

  1. I accidentily ordered this boxset on Amazon. I wanted Tenology but was confused (it was late).

Now I have all these albums on vinyl and 2 of them alos on CD (one a gold disc by Steve Hofmann). If the quelity is not imporoved maybe I better cancel and order Tenology in stead (although its much more expensive)

My favorite album is Deceptive bends and asking muself. Will this one soudn better than teh CD I already have (some edition from about 10 years ago)

  2. That remaster of Bloody Tourists is atrocious. Pleased I hung on to my original 1980s version. 10cc have not been treated well in the reissue department. Hopefully the Tenology box will offer some decent mastering at last. But i’m not overly hopeful.

    1. The remastering job off the box is very good! No compression and no errors that I know of! Disc four therefore finally offers the best, by far, sounding versions of many B-sides from their Mercury years!

  3. A vastly improved transfer of “Bloody Tourists” would have to happen before I’d consider dropping any coin for this. The last version I purchased was full of horrid tape speed issues.

    1. It’s like a bad joke and very sad that they STILL use those awful and terribly bad 1997 remasters! Shame on all evolved! The condition of those remasters are well know – what are they thinking!!!!

  4. Pity it doesnt include “10cc” and “Sheet Music” instead of the later two. Then it would be Classic.
‘Tenology’ is a more attractive package to me. I suppose it depends what the price ends up being out here in the Antipodes.
