NewsABBA / The Essential Collection 2CD+DVD set delayed
ABBA were due to release The Essential Collection on 21 May, a new collection of ABBA
hits and other classic tracks. However, this has now been pushed back to the autumn, with amazon.co.uk currently showing 3 September as a release date.
The set will come in three different configurations: a double-CD, a DVD, and a limited edition package featuring the two CDs, the DVD and an illustrated 28-page booklet. The DVD features all official ABBA promo clips in remastered form, including two previously
unreleased videos: Conociéndome, Conociéndote and Gracias por la música (Spanish versions of Knowing Me, Knowing You and Thank You For The Music, respectively).

Important to mention that apart from the DVD video clips, the CD tracks were NOT remastered for this set. Furthermore, the DVD will be available seperately.

Given that Gold has been constantly in print, More Gold and the 3CD Thank You For The Music w/booklet can be easily picked up and the albums individually or boxed it is difficult to see exactly who this is aimed at.
The promos were on DVD as part of the Complete Studio Recordings set (love mine!) and I suspect they are available separately on a standalone DVD.
I wasn’t impressed with the promo video remastering on the Super Trouper DE. The skin colour was strange!
