NewsElectronic debut on vinyl LP
Parlophone Label Group will this May reissue on vinyl LP, the eponymous debut of Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner’s dance/pop ‘supergroup’ Electronic.
This new 180g vinyl edition of the 1991 album will feature the 2013 remastering and is an eleven track album. Getting Away With It (originally a non-album single in the UK) replaces Gangster at the end of side one. Gangster then becomes the first track on a six-track side two, with the other five tracks following as per the original issue.
Electronic will be released on 18 May 2015.

Nearly 28 minutes of music on side 2? Hope they can squeeze it all in.
It’s a beautiful record. ‘The Patience Of A Saint’, very much the equal of ‘Getting Away With It’.. which really should not have been stuffed in on this remaster / reissue.
The high water mark for me for Electronic will always be “Disappointed”.
Have to say, as someone who jumped on this CD when it came out in 1991, I find it an incredibly dated listen these days. Can’t say I’ve managed to get through it many times in the last 10 or so years.
The inclusion of GAWI interupts the flow of the original album and although I love the track doesn’t fit on this album. Gangster sounds like an ‘end of a side one’ track with the long break down at the end.
They should’ve pressed up GAWI as a separate 12″ release with the various remixes.

From memory, Soviet (an instrumental) is/was the perfect start to the second side.

Been waiting on this vinyl reissue for a long time! Glad they stuck to the original tracks!
Well they didn’t quite stick to the original tracks, because ‘Getting Away With It’ wasn’t on the LP, at least not in the UK, but I know what you’re saying.
I’m surprised they haven’t added tracks from their other two albums like they did with that joke double cd they released a few years back.
Wow, so the 2cd deluxe digipak must have sold well interesting considering didn’t sell all that well upon its original release in 1991
