Eric Clapton / “Journeyman” SACD

journeyman

Audio Fidelity’s enthusiasm for Eric Clapton continues with the announcement that the audiophile specialists will reissue the guitarist’s 1989 album Journeyman as a hybrid SACD.

The album sold healthily at the time, peaking one spot short of the summit on the UK charts and going double platinum in the USA. The single Bad Love wasn’t as big a hit as you remember (it stalled at number 88 in the Billboard Hot 100) but did well on the AOR charts (number one on the “US Album Rock Tracks” chart).

This SACD is a hybrid, which means you can enjoy the new remaster on all CD players but the hi-res version will only work on Super Audio CD-compatible hardware. Journeyman is reissued on 6 May 2014

I’ve already pre-ordered this one, and my copy of the Behind The Sun SACD should arrive tomorrow. These are my first non-compilation Clapton purchases (other than Layla). He put out some great songs in the ’80s!
