Ken Boothe / Everything I Own: The Lloyd Charmers Sessions 1971-1976

Jamaican singer Ken Boothe‘s body of work with producer Lloyd Charmers is collected in Everything I Own: The Lloyd Charmers Sessions 1971-1976, a new two-CD set due in February.

This is a sizeable 47-track collection that brings together five of Boothe’s UK and Jamaican albums (four previously unissued on CD) and of course takes its name from the singer’s version of David Gates’ Everything I Own, which was a UK number one in 1974 (and again 13 years later for Boy George).

Boothe managed another UK top 20 hit with Everything I Own follow-up Crying Over You and over the years since, the singer has remained at the forefront of the Jamaican music scene.

Everything I Own: The Lloyd Charmers Sessions 1971-1976 is released on 19 February 2016.

  1. Great Collection of well know material for Ken Boothe fans with good sound quality.
The lloyd charmers arrangements have an unique sound especially for the tracks issued during the years 1974-1975, unfortunatelty this collection leaves out some singles and B-side instrumentals from the same producer (see the main ingredient cover of You To Me Are Everything).
Mr Boothe is one of the most beatiful jamaican voice !!!

    1. Agree, but … for those people who want to discover the more “commercial” end of Reggae music, you can’t go far wrong with this great collection from the man with the most wonderful voice.
