NewsMichael Jackson / Bad 25 track listing revealed for deluxe set
The track listing for Michael Jackson‘s Bad deluxe reissue (Bad 25) has finally been released. The only unknown element of this 3CD+DVD set was over the content of the second audio CD and unfortunately the news isn’t good.
For some reason at least 19 extended remixes/edits/instrumentals from the 1987/8 CD singles and 12-inch records have been totally ignored in favour of three ‘contemporary’ remixes and a bunch of demos, one of which has already appeared on the CD single of I Just Can’t Stop Loving You that was released a few months ago. A few tracks are carried over from the 2001 special edition and we get a rather inessential sounding French version of I Just Can’t Stop Loving You. Just like the bodged Thriller reissue of a few years ago, the ball seems to have been dropped for one of the biggest selling albums of all time!
There is also no indication of whether the album proper will be a remastered version of the original CD release or based on the 2001 reissue where a few tracks were replaced with single edits.
The good news is that the DVD will have 5.1 surround option straight from the multi-tracks and the audio CD of the concert should sound spectacular.

Personally I would just liked to have CD 2, and the DVD of the Wembley concert. I already have the Bad CD with ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ and ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’ in Spanish, and we don’t need CD 3 LIVE of the concert when we have the DVD tracks, surely? The price is not too ‘bad’. Ha ha.
Call that Afrosuck dude if you want to totally rape your favourite tracks.. Why releasing this shit & ignore the original remixes & extended versions? I don’t understand Sony for releasing this kind of crap.
Boring. I’ll pass on this. I want original 7″ and 12″ mixes.
I am happy about every demo version who finds the way
on a re-release CD. But new remixes – like here 3 – should have
no place on re-issues like that. Disappointing is the space on CD #1
and obviously on the second CD too. That was a missed chance….
Maybe someone takes the good “Victory” CD from the Jacksons
and think about a good 2CD release with the 12″versions
and the U.S. only instrumental versions + demos incl. the duet
of Michael Jackson & Freddie Mercury for “State Of Shock”

Who needs new crap remixes in BAD25?
The bonus disc could be filled with those 19 remixes/edits from that era, and those unreleased demos could easily be added to the main disc?
The 3 new remixes could be released as cd single or direct to iTunes, perhaps?

While the demos on Disc 2 are nice, you’re absolutely right about the remixes. I don’t even mind the inclusion of newer remixes, but 2 remixes of Bad by the same guy, one featuring (God help us) Pitbull? Only 3 remixes and two of them are nearly identical?
Where’s the never before released in any CD format extended mix of Leave Me Alone? At least Bad, Another Part of Me, Smooth Criminal and The Way You Make Me Feel were on the UK 3 disc set of King of Pop, although it would have made a lot of sense to include them.
This edition renders the previous 2001 Special Edition basically useless as it contains the same three bonus tracks plus several more. I can’t wait until 2017 when the 30th 5-CD 2-DVD edition comes out with more things that should have been on this one.
At least it won’t have Pitbull.
