PICTURE: Paul McCartney / New 2CD+DVD Collector's Edition
Here’s the first picture of Paul McCartney‘s forthcoming 2CD+DVD Collector’s Edition of his 2013 album New.
The colourful set is presented in a hardcover book and has yet another variant of the front cover (created by design consultancy YES). This deluxe edition offers two previously unreleased New session tracks and Japan-only bonus track Struggle as well as a generous amount of video material on the DVD.
Prices for this have been quite volatile over the last few weeks but the current Amazon UK price-tag of £22 is close to the cheapest it’s been.
New Collector’s Edition is released on 27 October 2014.

I burned the japanese version when it was out…
…will just have to burn another cdr plus a dvdr
Strange indeed. Had this on order with Amazon for the last month. It was due today. However overnight had an email to say they had no idea when it would become available. Could buy from and American seller if I wanted. Its not on UK iTunes but is on other countries iTunes and on UK Spotify. Odd all round. The two (or three) extra tracks are pretty good.
This has gone to unavailable on Amazon. Anyone any ideas why?
A bit strange… I’m sure it will be back at some point..
Does the size of this edition match the size of the other ‘Paul McCartney Archive collection’ hardback reissues?
Don’t think so – probably matches Good Evening New York City 2CD+2DVD set…
Think i’ll wait for this one to go on clearance.
Bought this album twice the first time around. Once from Amazon and once more for the Best Buy exclusive material. Not buying it a third time. As George W. Bush once said: “Fool me once, shame on…….shame on you….. Fool me….uhhh..… You can’t get fooled again.”
A wee bit too close to the original release for me to spend the money again. Good luck record company making those dollars, pounds and euros!! Some good cuts on the album but not my favorite. If you don’t have “Chaos” that should be in your collection before this one.
Didn’t get round to buying ‘New’ on original release so quite happy to pay for this set.
whoop dee doo
When you release a new album why not just bring one song out every month with a bonus track but add £2 to the purchase price each time?
Then release the full album with a bonus track we don’t have.
Then release the full album with a bonus track we don’t have plus a DVD?
Then release the full album with a bonus track we don’t have plus a DVD plus a handwritten note explaining why record companies need to continually take the piss?
You know really squeeze every last drop out of it?
