Bruce Springsteen / High Hopes CD with limited edition DVD

This isn’t a review of Springsteen‘s new album, rather a look at the packaging of the limited edition CD+DVD version and a little information on the bonus disc.

If you weren’t aware, early copies of High Hopes come with a bonus DVD of Bruce Springteen & The E Street Band performing Born In The USA in its entirety (and in order) in London in June 2013.

The DVD comes shrinkwrapped to the back of the High Hopes gatefold card wallet, so once you’ve opened the package it effectively becomes a separate item (in a simple card sleeve). The good new is that not only is the concert and performance fantastic, but the sound is remixed into Dolby 5.1 as well as PCM stereo. The disc is NTSC, region 0 (i.e. region free).

These were very cheap orginally (around £11-12 in the UK) but only the initial batch of CDs come with the DVD and the prices are already starting to increase.

High Hopes is out now.

Cracking deal at WowHD today on this version (Friday 17th), they’ve got 15% off everything today so that means you can pick it up for £8.49 delivered, that’s a very good price.

Is it a discrete 5.1 mix?

Looking forward to this one. Amazon.com appears to have copies in stock.
Thanks for the pics, Paul! Another release in which Japanese clear inner sleeves would be ideal to protect both discs from fingerprints, scratches, scuffs, etc…

Amazon Canada are the cheapest of the amazon bunch, it’s about £7.82 before shipping.

Thanks for the heads-up! Born in the U.S.A. is one of my favourite albums. Shame it wasn’t part of a BITU deluxe edition but it’s a nice bonus as it is.
