FIRST PICTURES / Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie deluxe box

Anyone verify the rumours that the european vinyl pressing is good? The US version seems to be seriously flawed….
Anyone?
Anyone know about the differences in the velvet lining?
Mine from Canada has blue, whilst this one (I’m guessing from UK?) is red…
I’ve read on Amazon reviews that the audio on the vinyl is distorted in places, especially on the track “Zero”. I’ve been holding off on getting it until I find out if it’s going to be correct on additional pressings, or what the deal is.
I would’ve been all over this if it had been more reasonably priced, like $70.
So happy with the sound on this box. Glad all the proper studio albums in this reissue campaign have been done right, and, in my opinion, surpass the original releases. The PI box is the only one that suffers from errors and too compressed audio. But given that was just a collection of b-sides, I’d rather hunt down the original CD singles anyway to get those tracks. =)
