Elvis: Album Collection unboxing

elvis

Two weeks ahead of its release, here’s an unboxing video that will give you a feel for the contents and presentation of the 60CD Elvis Presley Album Collection box set.

Note how the book sits in a slot behind the CDs, allowing Sony/Legacy to create a much bigger book than contained in the similar Dylan set.

Elvis Presley – The Album Collection
60CD box set is released on 18 March 2016. There is a FULL track listing here.

Mine just arrived today from amz UK in pristine condition. It was packed in a seperate box by Sony which then was put in an amz box. Shrink-wrapped as well. Again, no dents or anything else. Great.item. Happy Listening.

@Gerbrand, I buy this exactly for the original LP artwork and track listing. I have most of these tracks, I also own many of the original LPs. But to have all these originals in one box and to enjoy the feeling of the authentic releases how they where meant to be – is really fantastic. How you really can prefer the packaging of these 90s boxes is a mystery to me. But to each his own. Have a great weekend!

I bought this in Fopp, Covent Garden today for £170.

The 3 boxsets 50’s / 60’s / 70’s Masters released in the early 90’s remain the ultimate Elvis collection, both in packaging and musical content. Leaving out all the drab (movie and gospel songs for one; except the very few worthwile) you won’t listen to anyway. And including all the worthwile rarities and live versions. 15 cd’s filled to the brim giving you much more listening pleasure than these 60 individual cd’s. Do you self a favour and look for the original LP-sized boxes or otherwise the recent book format re-releases. Much cheaper and believe me you won’t find a song missing. And don’t say you’ll buy this for the original LP covers, because (with the exception of 3-4) they’re all dull and identical.

An FTD deluxe box would indeed be fantastic.

Another Elvis box set ! of course we will buy that’s what Elvis fans do ! FTD box set would have been better in my view.

When it drops below £75 maybe, just maybe….looks good though.

This is a Brexit opportunity for those that want The King

Order from amazon.co.uk for shipment to the USofA and it will run around $200, Get the King lined up from amazon.com and its $300 +/-

Not really in the frame for all this Elvis unless its a gigantic bargain that I cannot resist

elliott buckingham

all I want is golden rec vol 3 and c’mon everybody to replace my battered records

Ken

Agreed, my favorite collection of Elvis songs as well.

Daniel H.

Looks good overall. Good idea for a bigger booklet. I just hate it when they use those terrible white edges on the cover of any vinyl replica. Why, why why?! By now any record company should have realised that most of the collector’s don’t like it.

However: The King lives!

Scott

When the borders weren’t part of the original art, I totally agree with you. But in this case, they MAY be correct. A lot of mid-50s LP covers had the cover art “pasted” to a plain, thicker cardboard sleeve which did leave a white edge. I’m not sure if that was the case with the early Elvis albums, but since almost all of the later albums in the video (Christmas, In Person, Aloha from Hawaii, etc.) don’t have the white edges, it was obviously done intentionally on those first few album replicas. They could be based on the first pressings.

Impressive looking set!
