It’s always cool going back to talk of “Paper Gods”…I have the Warner Store combo version and the Target version…my WS purchase came with the matching T-shirt, and BTW, the thing you fold is called a “fortune teller”…it’s unique and fun and I have no prob with the sticker sheets either, I like the cover colour pink/blue without the stickers on it, looks like a popsicle. I also have the matching thick tour program which is quite beautiful. Here’s something else you may not realize…you can put the Target version inside the WS version and fold them together and it works brilliantly. Won’t work with the regular deluxe, only the 3 panel WS deluxe.

Hope to run into you in NYC. I’ll keep my eyes open whenever I pass a coffee shop.

The vinyl is wafer thin and mine arrived buckled to buggery.
Very cheaply put together.

Really boring special editions, IMO… I’m getting the standard one this time. Thanks for the video!

Sam

Love this new video series. Thanks for putting in the effort to make them, Paul. All the best!

@Mike C. what about the 5th bonus track “Planet Roaring?”

Mike C.

Northern Lights and Valentine Stones are GREAT songs and are much better than many of the album tracks. On Evil Beach is ok. Cinderella Ride is meh, IMO.

Very interesting, Paul. It’s nice to see the different formats, and I love to see what the actual vinyl inside looks like. Non-lined inners can be a pain. I’ve had some where I’ve had to wrestle to vinyl out the first time as they were almost glued in with static! DD also missed a trick in not putting the bonus tracks on the vinyl: four tracks a side, then four or five tracks on side 4. Shame.

I just want a digipak or jewel case version with a tray for the CD.

Maybe in 20 years.

Glenn

There is a non-Target deluxe edition in the US as well which includes the same three bonus tracks as the UK/EU deluxe edition.

Paul-do you get all these copies of the SDE’s on your site for free or do you pay for them all? I am, of course, jealous either way!

Paul

Thanks for the Info Paul.

Alan

Just to clear up : The Target Edition is available online but only to US Citizens. I was lucky to score a copy from a dutch fan (Thanks Peter !) who organised everything. He by himself distributed about 80 copies thanks to a friend in the US who was willing to score these domestically and then ship them to Europe.

always nice to see these sets with a closer detail – i’m still irked that there are 5 bonus tracks to be had, making it necessary to purchase 2 copies of the cd to get them all. and yes, i did do just that, and i’m a little ashamed about it.

Jim

That deluxe edition is fun…….if you are a seven year old girl.

Well done Paul! Very educational indeed, can’t wait 4 Bananarama box next!

Malcolm Garrett (DD designer of Rio etc) would be spinning in his grave…if he were dead. Which he isn’t but I’d love to hear his take on those terrible graphics.
