Got that Godley & Creme from Amazon today and for anybody wanting to know it was remastered by Andy Pearce. It’s a small box with 5 card sleeves in it and a booklet and what i have listened to so far the sound is good.
Sheila E’s new album “Iconic” is out now too: https://www.sheilae.com/product/iconic-pre-order/
Stevie Wonder never did get around to putting out “Original Musiquarium II” did he? I have Musiquarium I from when it came out and it is brilliant, right down to the sequencing of the tracks. Usually extra tracks on compilations are a bit like filler but not here – the 4 new tracks for this at the time included That Girl and Do I Do. Amazing. I can’t recommend it enough.
I also recommend watching Stevie Wonder perform Superstition on Sesame Street in the early 70s, if you’re not one of the 10 million people who have viewed this already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ul7X5js1vE
And this is pretty good, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqrvm2XDvpQ
If you love Sugar Mountain and The Needle and The Damage Done, you’ll love Hitchhiker unless the rip I heard is a demo or fake. I love my Neil when he rocks out: turn it up! Yeah!
You can currently hear Hitchhiker in full on NPR: http://www.npr.org/2017/08/31/547036559/first-listen-neil-young-hitchhiker?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nprmusic&utm_term=music&utm_content=20170505
I think the Tori vinyl has been put back to October 20th.
Also out The National’s new album Sleep Well Beast. Just hope it’s not as compressed as the otherwise excellent Trouble will Find Me.
I wonder how long it’ll take for the Sparks Mart stuff to show up… For stuff I paid for 6 months ago it’d better be damn quick.
Nothing for me this week. Dr. John next week though!
