The Organization of Pop / US ZTT compilation out next month
ZTT records will release a new compilation The Organization of Pop: Music From The First Thirty Years of ZTT Records in the US on 15 October 2013, via Stateside partners Razor & Tie.
The track listing for the two CD set – first revealed by our friends at Slicing Up Eyeballs – is made up largely of previously released mixes with just three unheard variants included.
Any UK fans who might be disappointed with this release, should note that Salvo Records (who issue ZTT product in the UK) have confirmed that both artwork and track listings for this compilation will differ ‘significantly’ when its released here in early 2014.
A two-CD Deluxe Edition of the 2012 compilation Frankie Said and a third volume of the popular Art Of The 12-inch series are also expected early next year, to kick of the 30th Anniversary celebrations here in the UK.

As well as the US (New York) & UK (London) editions there will also be a Japan (Tokyo) edition released early 2014 with a slightly differing track listing…..
This is a very boring comp. Judging by the snippets that are available Slave To The Rhythm still hasn’t been remastered. It sound much duller and lower in volume than all the other tracks.
fully agree with you Rick about miss jones….
V dull, hope uk version better!
What the world REALLY needs, though, is a remastered and expanded “Slave To The Rhythm” cd by Grace Jones. Now that I would buy in a split-second!
Seal rereleases, now there’s a great idea! I only found out a little while ago that there are two versions of the first album after hearing it played and realising it was different to the one I had!
Yes, Seal was on the schedule for late last year… not too sure what happened there. I have the ‘early’ version of the first album on CD. They decided to do some post-release remixing if my memory serves correctly. Think it was reasonably minor.
I can’t speak for the other tracks, but the Fruitness mix of Pleasuredome has already been released two times on CD, once on the Twelve Inches double CD of 2001 and Frankie Say Greatest deluxe edition in 2009. Agree that this is a mostly pointless release, probably aimed at people who don’t know much about the Zang. I can’t see anyone other than a die-hard completist buying this.
This is totally unnecessary edition of mixes. It’s better for ZTT to release first two ‘Seal’ albums as deluxe editions. This is pretty boring and always on this ‘alredy seen compilation’ is some track from Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Frankie says no more.
