Ho-Lee-Crap. Got mine in Texas today. Triple boxed, with the outer layer 26 x 21 x 17 inches! One layer was the original shipping box TO Amazon. It’s definitely never been opened before, and Mono Masters is the only volume that’s shrink wrapped.
My copy is expected in California by the end of Thursday. Did Amazon.ca do a good job of packing the box?
I received mine today. Packing was excellent but The box had no cellophane to seal it and almost all of the albums were unsealed. I was particularly distressed to see that the magical mystery tour’s attached insert was completely torn off. Deal or not, I’m wondering whether this was a used and returned set. I wonder if this is normal. Could anyone please tell me whether they received a sealed copy?
I think the unsealed thing is standard. Pretty sure mine was unsealed. The Queen boxes are unsealed on the outside. Obviously the MMT thing is unfortunate.

Any guesses on typical import taxes for something this size? I remember something I bought for £60 costing me an extra £17

Last year, I bought the Beatles Mono vinyl box in a store at Montreal (Canada) and it is an European pressings, indeed!
Add on £45 for 1-2 week shipping to UK, still a great price.
With shipping to the UK it takes it up to £160. I’m just worried about 1) damage in the post and 2) import tax (I’ve been stung a couple of times before!). Do I or don’t I?

I ordered, and in the hopes that I don’t get my head chopped off, the Beatles aren’t even in my top 10. I just want one of my young kids to someday have this set and take off to college.
Works out £158.86 including shipping to the UK. Big problem is that the import duty will be approx. £50 which starts to make it not such a bargain!

Import duty to the UK is zero. VAT due to the UK will be about £35-ish. Plus ‘admin’ fee.
Not quite as great as it looks if you’re in the UK, with shipping and tax weighing in at over £70…

Wow, you Canadians and Americans especially, what a terrific deal! There’s an additional £40 p&p for the slowest service to the UK though, and presumably about £1000 import duty so reluctantly I’ll have to pass this one up.

Do you know if there’s different pressings for the Beatles “Mono” box set?
I know there is an European and an US pressing for the Beatles “Stereo” box set.
Would be interesting to know if there’s a big difference in the quality of the pressing….
that’s why i’m not sure if i should get the box from Canada even at this low price!

$229.99 CAD is a huge bargain!!! With S&H USD $202.59 to USA. These are the nice original style albums instead of the inferior Stereo package. Too bad I was an early adopter.
