Paul McCartney / Tug of War black vinyl single LP reissue – €12.99 or £11.50
McCartney’s 1982 album is one of his best solo outings. The title track and Take It Away were not big hits but quality songs. Wanderlust is a Macca classic, and while this includes Ebony and Ivory, the other Stevie Wonder duet, the funked-up What’s That You’re Doing?, is much more fun.

Paul & Linda McCartney / RAM black vinyl single LP reissue – €12.99 or £11.50
The critics were harsh, to 1971’s RAM at the time, but it’s has always been one of Paul’s very best albums, with his whimsy and melodic talents totally unshackled. Back Seat Of My Car is a cinematic you-and-me-against-the-world masterpiece. “We believe that we can’t be wrong”. Anyone who can have a US number one single with Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey has unworldly skills.

Paul McCartney / Pipes of Peace black vinyl single LP reissue – €12.99 or £11.50
One of life’s unexplained mysteries is how you can have a hit single in America as big as Say Say Say – six weeks at number one and over one million copes sold – and still the album doesn’t even get into the Billboard top ten. 1983’s Pipes of Peace is generally consider Tug Of War-lite, but the title track (Paul’s first solo UK number one single, fact fans), Say Say Say, and a few choice album cuts (The Man, Sweetest Little Show) still make it worth owning.

McCartney II black vinyl single LP reissue – €12.99 or £11.50
Even though Tug Of War was considered a revival in Paul’s commercial fortunes, let’s not forget that his homemade synth-heavy McCartney II album spawned a US number one hit single in Coming Up (albeit the ‘Live in Glasgow’ variant) and the studio version of the same track got to number two in Britain. Paul put away the keyboards for the bluesy and excellent On The Way.

Wings at the Speed of Sound black vinyl single LP reissue – €12.99 or £11.50
The ‘democratic’ Wings album that contains big hits Let ‘Em In and Silly Love Songs. We’ll forgive Linda’s Cook of the House, and instead enjoy Denny Laine’s brilliant Time To Hide and The Note You Never Wrote. Warm and Beautiful remained a forgotten Macca classic until he dusted it down for inclusion on Pure McCartney, a couple of years ago.

I think the Pipes of Peace “mystery” is explained by the fact that the other vocalist on the track was by some distance the biggest star on the planet at the time.
Granted, but he was also on another track on the album and generally speaking big singles sell albums, even if the single is the best thing on it.

The Dub Sandwich deluxe edition is only available at select service stations on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The one in Punxsatawney was already sold out, but they did have some of the Led Zeppelin RSD 7″.
i noticed that these new vinyl sound more slight, less full than the original albums. i returned the 3 i bought.

I thought “We believe that we can’t be wrong” was a dig at John Lennon and Yoko Ono and their continual preaching / campaigns around the time the album came out, wasn’t it? Piss of cake etc….
Paul put plenty of digs in at J&Y knowing full well that Lennon wouldn’t be able to resist firing back. He can be a right manipulative bugger when he wants to be.
I don’t think that’s it at all. In the context of the song, it’s the attitude of the young lovers in the song (“We believe that we can’t be wrong”) vs. the grown-ups (her Daddy).
