Unbelievably good deal for the forthcoming Lloyd Cole and the Commotions 5CD+DVD Collected Recordings 1983-1989 box set if you order from Amazon Italy.
The box set which contains remastered versions of the three albums, plus two CDs of bonus material and a DVD is just £25 (or €35) which is HALF the UK Price!! This is correct at the time of writing (8.30am 5/6/15) but won’t last long.

Though amazon italy maybe able to do it, its morally bankrupt as they will be selling it again imminently.
Like many others it was & then wasn’t in “My Bag” so Amazon Italia are no longer my “Brand New friend” as they’ve tried my “Patience” making me “Mr Malcontent” and leading me to conclude that they are “Rattlesnakes” and I’ve told them they will “Never Be No Good”. Shame really as they could have got “Rich” but I guess that’s how it is “These Days”, if I see a similar offer I’m likley to think “I Don’t Believe You”. If I carry on It’ll end up being a “Lost Weekend” and I’ll be “Perfect(ly) Blue” so thats enough shooting “From The Hip” from me
NB I’ve not heard owt about the Simple Minds replacement – reckon I I’ll be informed by someone somewhere in summertime ………Enough already!

I got an email from Universal yesterday (Thursday) noting that the Sparkle In The Rain replacements will be with us ‘within the week’
As far as I know the price has been the same on the UK site since it was announced so at least nobody cancelled a low-priced and now unobtainable order to get this one. That would have been annoying.
This is true. The price hasn’t moved. It’s good practise to keep cancellations to the last minute, but you do have to ensure you remember to cancel the-one-you-don’t-want so you don’t end up with two copies :)
Ouch!!! If it’s anything like those Tears for Fears and Simple Minds SDE box sets, it’ll be down to a reasonable price in due course. BTW has anyone received their replacement DVD for the Simple Minds Sparkle in the Rain SDE yet?
What a palavar! Just re-ordered from UK site and also added the new Michael Head and The Strands CD so that I don’t get hit with postage charges for it (the Michael Head CD).
Sorry about that everyone! Mine got cancelled too. A bit surprising that they’ve done this to be honest, but as has been stated, they are within their rights. Oh well.
I suppose the sudden surge of overseas orders for a particular product, all within an hour or so, alerted them to something not being “normal”….and they probably felt – rightly or wrongly – that the offer was being abused. This is only going to happen more often, so they need to stop messing people about – either honour the orders, or refused to accept overseas buyers. Or maybe there’s a Third Way…..?
Cancelled from Italy. I think £30 or around that would be a reasonable price, so I will wait until it comes down. if it disappears instead then that’s £30 saved.

First they bump up Prime to £79, then they raise the minimum order for free delivery to £20, are Amazon actively trying to piss people off?

I just got an e-mail from Amazon Italy saying that my order was cancelled.
“The price of the article you want shown on the website was incorrect, so we couldn’t give the course to your order. If you would like to regain the article to the current price, blah blah blah blah blah…”
Now it is being listed as “currently not available”.
Grrr.

Just had my pre-order cancelled by Amazon Italy – the listed price was wrong. Too good to be true, unfortunately.
I wasn’t complaining either. Just reporting. I appreciate Paul’s posting these. Amazon Italy had a couple of spectacular low prices in the past. It is strange how Amazon just shuffles these deals around. What goes through Jeff Bezos’s head?
It’s currently No. 95 on Amazon.it music bestsellers list – I doubt that Lloyd Cole & The Commotions have ever been more popular in Italy :-)

Although I was not quick enough to clinch this deal I don’t see why Paul should be criticized for any timing issues relating to the deals he makes known to the rest of us.
After all, getting the offer out there as quick as possible is surely the key here and by far the best way to ensure that at least some of us benefit.
The regular updates and improved typing skills at my end will bag me a deal one day, but for now thanks to all at SDE for their continued top efforts!
I think amazon.it did not expect so many requests, this is not a top seller.
Not a moan (keep the alerts coming), just a groan of frustration. How dare Amazon Italy not consider us UK commuters when deciding their discount strategy? 8-)

Timing is everything… Alert received at 08:30 when most of us are travelling to work… by the time we get there it’s gone!
I understand that it’s frustrating if you miss it, but I can’t control what amazon do with these price changes and discounts. If I waited for the optimum time to post, it could be gone and no one would get the deal. So current strategy is to post about it while the deal is active and at least some will benefit.
