If the studios started with hits compilations, the whole Hi-def market would have gotten more followers. The people just have to hear what they are missing. The problem is until they try to release inexpensive, I hate to say it “Walmart: Lynyrd Skynyrd Southern Surroundings 1cd/2 DVD sets for $11”, releases it will always be a near death format.

Just a short note, judging LedMan & Steve Hoffman, as we all know a number of tracks above were released as singles all those years ago, i trust
Nights in White Satin, Blinded By The Light, Light My Fire, Slow Ride, and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Freebird are all album versions?

LedMan

According to the Hoffman site the tracks will consist of album versions. I’m looking forward to hearing these on SACD and if sales are strong there may be more to come in the future.

Galley

It was Time-Life’s idea, apparently.

Audiophile repressings of what amounts to TV-infomercial comps. Wow. There’s no limit to the madness.
