Bjork / Biophilia Live 2CD+Blu-ray

One Little Indian Records will release Biophilia Live in November, the documentary concert film that documents Bjork‘s performance of her 2011 Biophilia album/app/multimedia project at London’s Alexandra Palace.

The film was shot by directors Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland and this home video release features extra content filmed during Biophilia‘s residency at Japan’s Miraikan Museum.

All physical formats include audio with the video and the options are quite refreshingly sensible with 2CD+Blu-ray, 2CD+DVD or 3LP+DVD (with download code) on offer. The Blu-ray (or DVD) will have a 5.1 surround sound.

Biophilia Live is released on 24 November 2014. There is no confirmation whether it’s region free but the USA price at the time of writing for the 2CD+Blu-ray is less than $15 or £9!

As was said before, thank you for the heads-up.

While I’m far from a student of Bjork (I have probably five of her regular release CDs and enjoy them well enough when I listen to them), the price of the 2CD/Blu-ray made this a no-brainer. Same was true with the Depeche Mode “Live in Berlin” package. I bought that and I really don’t like their new album all that much.

Maybe the powers that be are figuring out that sweet pricing can move a lot of product. Regardless, this Bjork price seems like an Amazon error.

While I love Bjork I do find it hard to keep up with amount of live/remix/video material that comes with each album, especially as I feel like my favourite material of hers is some years in the past now (Vespertine was her peak for me).

Haha I know what you mean James, although it’s amusing to be complaining about ‘too much’ stuff coming out when normally we complain about the exact opposite :) I agree about “Verspertine” by the way. I have the SACD which probably ranks amongst my very favourite hi-res surround discs.
