Saw Marillion last night in London and the new tracks from FEAR were stunning. Following some research this morning I’ve discovered that FEAR is available on SACD 5.1 from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/F-E-R-Marillion/dp/B01HC94ADO/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1480931683&sr=1-1&keywords=fear+sacd
Also available is a 5.1 96kHz version of Sounds That Can’t Be Made which appears on the third disc of a bluray set of the live performance. This particular version is available from the Marillion website:
http://www.marillion.com/shop/dvd/asnatr-bluray.htm
The version available from Amazon appears to be a single disc version that does not contain the studio album.

Looks as though the ultimate box set editions of Marillion’s much anticipated FEAR release have been delayed a couple of weeks due to equipment failure (at the pressing plant?) but ever the good guys the band are sending all ultimate box pledgers a special early disc to tide them over.

In the past, the deluxe edition of Marillion albums were available through their webshop for quite some time after release, meaning that even those who didn’t participate in the funding campaign could grab one. Don’t know if that will be the case with the new album.

In any case, the preview they send a few weeks ago is stunning, the F.E.A.R. seems to be another stunning addition to their discography. Can’t wait to receive mine (they’ve been posted last week). Very nice indeed to see it mentioned here.

Randy Newman Songbook vinyl set also out this week.

About Marillion F.E.A.R. if u go to his homepage can find a link to their Pledgemusic where will find more different edditions of the album including different sets from standard cd to boxes with extra content if not wrong…
…and from here is another project (now more than reached) from Gary Numan for next year album with a curious “extra” for contributors and usual bundles, included signed ones.

Neil

That pledgemusic campaign from Marillion has closed and if we all thought that Human League box set was expensive then Marillion really took the piss asking £158.16 for theirs.

Gisabun

It all depends on what is in the Human League box set versus Marillion.
Marillion has always given good value. After all, without them PledgeMusic and the others would not be around.

Gisabun

Maybe you should look and see what the Ultimate box set has to offer before you whine about the price. did you check?

The pledgemusic for Marillion’s FEAR album is now closed, you can’t get the limited editions / signed items anymore.
Very nice to see Marillion mentioned here by the way!!

Are the bowie albums going to be released on CD as standalone albums like the first set? With the first set they were issued separately on the same day as release, and then the vinyl was issued separately a few months later.

Paolo

Yeah, I’m asking the same ever since the box set announcement, but still no answer. And no Amazon or Ebay listings.

Michael Fortin

I think they are supposed to be released separately, except for the box set exclusives (David Live Original Mix, Gouster, 2010 Station to Station, Re:Call 2). I’m waiting for the individual releases since I don’t even have copies of Diamond Dogs and Young Americans in my collection. I have the 3-Disc Station to Station set already. I’m tempted by the 2010 Station to Station Mix, but not going to buy the whole box for it. I’ll try to find it on iTunes or Spotify (GASP!)
