Motorhead / Bad Magic (box set)

Motorhead‘s 22nd studio album Bad Magic is released today and this vinyl box is perhaps the edition of choice, because it collects gatefold vinyl and CD (in ‘ecolbook’ packaging), along with a couple of patches and an A1 poster.


Jimi Hendrix Experience / Atlanta Pop Festival (2CD)

In 1970 Jimi Hendrix played at the second Atlanta Pop Festival to an audience estimated to have been in excess of 300,000 people. This new 2CD release (also on 2LP vinyl) is almost the full concert. A documentary will be issued on DVD and blu-ray later in the year.


GTR/ Deluxe 2CD

GTR, the short-lived Steve Howe/Steve Hackett rock band, produced just the one (self-titled) album in 1986. Esoteric are reissuing a remastered version of it with a 14-track bonus disc of the band live in Los Angeles in July 1986. Read more

I pre-ordered the CD and vinyl editions of Hendrix Atlanta Pop Festival. Can’t wait for the Blu-Ray!

Can’t understand why theres yet anotther Jean-Michel Jarre ‘Essential’ compilation – other than to raise interest in the forthcoming new album on October.

Would have loved it to had all the properly essential various 12″ remixes he’s had over the years form the early 80’s onwards that aren’t available on CD remastered – missed trick i feel!

I think the answer is quite clear : Jarre is now and again in contract with Sony, so they decided to put out a compilation just before the “new” album to put back some interest and do some money…
They don’t want to spend a penny on Jarre’s catalog anyhow, so they did this, instead of spending time on rare mixes…
