Thanks to Paul, for this site, alerting me to the deals available on Amazon.de. Today I have received the Monty Python cd box set, and what a treasure it is, and a steal at £23!!! Also The Roxy Music complete studio recordings arrived, and it’s beauty almost has me in tears. The £43 for this well spent. Do days get better than this?
Tommy, Jimi, Siouxsie was my haul for the .de lightning deals this week. Nevermind was the big kahuna that got away. Important safety tip: if you manage to get one of these deals carted and haven’t logged in, the login process tosses it right back out. :-(
Also got the Siouxsie set, don’t think I’ll even try for the Nirvana box coming up.
Good luck if you try, afaik it is now up for the 3rd time, so chances are perhaps a bit better today!
For any Marc Bolan fans the 5CD BBC box set is reduced to £25 on the universal website.
Just got the Siouxsie BBC box set for £14.40 incl. postage. Another bargain price…cheers SDE and Amazon Germany.
I was in that HMV a couple of weeks ago and the box sets were in a corner at the top of the staircase. I guess they don’t sell many of them though, because most of the market would be loyal fans who pre-ordered online somewhere well in advance.
That tiny section is now the classical music section. There is no display at all for box sets now.
woo-hoo got the Monty Python Boxset…so that me saved about £30 on the Amazon UK price , so im a happy camper
Wait `til you get it namesake – it`s a quality package. I did pay £30 more and was happy to pay it ; ))
I`ve purchased 10 items during the last week on Am. De., spent a bit but saved much more because all the items, as I`ve said somewhere else on here, I wanted and would have got them.
Has anybody been in HMV recently? I was in the flagship store in Oxford Street London today looking for their box set section but couldn’t find it. I asked an assistant why they had no box sets and he got on his hands and knees and pulled out two packing boxes from right underneath the shelves containing their box sets for sale.
Absolutely unbelievable that they would expect their customers to crawl on the floor and go under the shelves to look for a box set that might cost £100 or more. And then they wonder why they are going down hill. Utterly disgraceful.
Last time I was in that shop, they had a ‘section’ upstairs, just to the right of where you take the stairs/escalator back down to the ground floor.
BST? UTC? This is all so confusing! I think I get the ‘Easter Deals’ thing, in that you have to search for it…? Hopefully Amazon.UK will also have this as I can’t understand a lick of German… I really want that Monty Python box!
To everyone:
Now you see the amazon offers for tomorrow.
Go to Blitzangebote….
If you have choosen Blitzangebote – choose on the right side Musik. There you can see when amazon will sell the offer.
When the time is near of the selling time you can see how the time will run to zero. Then you see :
“In den Einkaufswagen”
And then push the button.
Today in the morning I have bought so the Pearl Jam Box.
You can check this system now.
Tomorrow will be available the Johnny Cash Boxset a second time.
I have tgat Martha Reeves And The Vandellas box set AND I have personally met and chatted with them before!!!
Sort of thanks for this Paul. I have just had to replace my broken TV so the last thing I wanted to do this month was spend money on ANYTHING ELSE. So far I have the Nevermind box and the Python Box. I sort of want Rush Sectors 1 & 2 (but not 3) as well, but not enough to slap the F5 key over and over.
Anyway, this is partially thanks for the alerting and partially a “curse you” for the alerting without which I would be nearer financial stability this month.
Monty Python’s Total Rubbish: 25,99€
James Brown: Star Time (4 CDs): 15,99€
Got Peel Slowly off the reserve list. Thanks for everyone’s help and thanks to Paul for kicking the whole thing off.

Merl Saunders & Jerry Garcia: Complete 1973 Fantasy Rec (4 CDs) 18,99€
Tommy Gun, instantaneously, oh well I will wait for the postman to deliver the three new Specials reissues and hope that the sound is a little better than the Pretender discs
Happy Sunday Paul from Michigan
the who – tommy box 43,99€
richard thompson at the bbc box 24,99€
Thanks spot
Also, note that the times reflected here appear to be GMT +1. In other words, the Rush 1 deal listed for 2PM kicked off at 1PM GMT or 9 AM Eastern in the USA.
Synchronizing watches…
Oh, and Paul, an overdue thanks for putting this together this week.
Good point. It’s BST now which is UTC+1
@Alan F – thanks for the reply, unfortunately I went on the page before seeing your message and Chrome refused to translate it for once so I dismissed the pop-up without realising what it was. :-/ Oh well, bank manager will be pleased.
I assume I’m way too late for this; the Barry White box is 54,99. Is that the deal price, or the full price?
That’s the full price, so yes too late for Mr White, but plenty of other stuff coming up. Mostly recaps from during the week.
Are the various box sets booklets in English or German?
English.
How do you know if you’ve been successful on the reserve list, do they email you?
@Geoff
You get a pop up on your screen when it’s available you then have a set amount of time to add it to your basket, if you miss this message or that window of time, it moves on to the next person on the waiting list.
Can anyone remember how much the Massive Attack vinyl was please? I missed that earlier in week. Thanks
Massive Attack was €30
Thanks Paul
I really like the fact that they are repeating some of the offers. I managed to get the Daft Punk set yesterday second time around!
Yes, many deals today are repeated. It also means you know in advance what the price will be.
Blimey,
The Moody Blues set was 100% reserved before 11:31, less than a minute after it opened.
Martha Reeves set was fully reserved after 15 seconds!!!
